This week at CC Community Day, our students explored energy change and Newton’s Laws of Motion through hands-on experiments!

We watched how height affects speed as marbles rolled down ramps (potential energy ➡️ kinetic energy), and we tested inertia by snapping paper from under a soda can — and seeing it stay put!

There’s nothing like seeing science come alive right in front of their eyes. 💡✨

So proud of these curious minds asking big questions and thinking like scientists!

It’s always so encouraging to see our homeschool students thriving and getting to enjoy some of the same experiences that their public school peers do, while still benefiting from all the unique blessings of home education.

🎯 Math Battleship with Classical Conversations! 💥

In our Classical Conversations community, math isn’t just about numbers—it’s about fun and strategy! This week we played a round of Math Battleship 🛳️ where students get three numbers and use PEMDAS (Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication/Division, Addition/Subtraction) to “eliminate” their opponent’s numbers.

It’s amazing to watch them think critically, apply order of operations, and cheer each other on—all while strengthening their math skills and building friendships. 💪✨

Learning truly comes alive when we make it engaging and meaningful!

🌞 Science in Action with Classical Conversations! 🌿

This week, our students had a blast exploring cyanotype printing, a beautiful blend of art and science! Using sun-sensitive paper, they arranged leaves, flowers, and laser-cut wooden shapes, then let sunlight create stunning blue-and-white prints. ☀️💙

Through this simple yet fascinating experiment, our students discovered how UV light causes a chemical reaction that leaves behind permanent images. It’s a hands-on way to see God’s design in both nature and science and a wonderful reminder that learning can be joyful, creative, and full of wonder! ✨

🎶✨ Tin whistles are clean and ready! ✨🎶

It’s that time again—tin whistle season in Classical Conversations! 🪈 Our freshly cleaned whistles are all set for a new round of music learning.

Through the tin whistle, our kids get to explore the foundations of music theory in such a fun and hands-on way. They learn about notes, rhythm, scales, and patterns, while also developing fine motor skills, focus, and confidence. It’s amazing to see how these simple little instruments help build a love for music and set the stage for future musical study.

Plus, it’s always a joy to hear those first few notes come together into real songs—it’s a reminder of how much they’re growing and learning week by week. 💛

“Did you know Floating World by A.A. Murakami at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston uses fog, bubbles, & plasma to create art that exists only in the moment? We got to experience it first-hand today and it was amazing! ✨
