Our Public Safety program and Medical Occupations program were blessed to spend the day in Detroit. Students took a tour of Little Caesars Arena and were able to tour security aspects of Comerica Park, to learn what is required to keep everyone safe and healthy at large-scale events. Our group was able to watch a Detroit Tigers game during our adventures. While the score did not end the way we had hoped, the weather was beautiful. A huge thank you to to Comerica and the security team for hosting us once again. They have been strong supporters and partners with our CTE students for many years.

Today our Public Safety Class learned and practiced water rescues. Thank you to Gerrish Township Fire and EMS for working with our Public Safety class throughout this school year!

A huge thank you to Matt Spear. Matt is a retired Federal Agent, who has presented to our public safety class for many years. He presents to students about the many adventures he experienced as an agent, and about the nearly endless career possibilities that exist within federal justice system.

Thank you to the Gerrish Township Fire Department for giving our public safety class an experience working as a mock wildfire crew this week!

The education class welcomed Rodney Patterson to our class today. Mr. Patterson is a retired physical education/health/strength and conditioning teacher and coach. He spent time speaking with our students about the importance of getting involved beyond the classroom through extracurricular activities. He shared how important it is for teachers to participate in sports, clubs, and other school events to help build strong relationships with students.

Thank you to South Branch Township Fire and EMS!

Today students learned how to backboard, and place patients in a stokes basket. They also loaded patients into the SXS from South Branch Township and got to practice safe driving with a patient loaded.
