Dear parents and students,
We want to thank you for your willingness to adapt to the changes that have come your way these past couple of weeks in regard to the COVID-19 statewide school dismissal. Having students out of the schools just isn’t the same and we all hope to have your children back in school sooner than later. However, as this COVID-19 pandemic plays out Union High School will continue to provide online schooling for your child Monday-Friday on a normal time schedule. What does this look like and how will we proceed from here?
Beginning Monday March 30th, students will begin classes online at 8:00 AM and will finish up at 2:44 PM. We want to keep the school running as close to normal as possible which will allow students the ability to keep up with their school work, as well as allow students the opportunity to check in virtually with their teachers 10-15 minutes every day during their regular class periods. Teachers will be utilizing this daily 10-15-minute time to help answer questions, provide additional lessons, clarification and to help guide students through this online process. Teachers will provide a time when they will be available to meet virtually each period on their Canvas calendar. Teachers will be available during regular class A/B block times through email or teacher established virtual classroom activities.
We understand that your child may not be engaged the entire 70 minutes of their class period, but a regular class schedule will allow them a scheduled routine to check in with their teachers on a daily basis. Please encourage your child to check their Canvas announcements daily and log on for their virtual class meetings.

This online process will continue until May 1st for now, but a calendar for May was added just in case we do not come back to school the remainder of the school year. Zoom can be accessed on any electronic device including cell phones.

Parents, UHS has Chromebooks available to check out in the library until Tuesday March 31st. After that, parents will need to call and schedule an appointment with Mr. Goodrich to check out a Chromebook.
