The simulation lab has computerized adult and child “patients” where training for normal situations can take place, as well as rare IRL crises, so everyone knows what to do when those situations do occur. It’s going to be great!!

Missouri S&T and the Missouri AfterSchool Network are hosting the Midwest STEM Conference this summer, July 28-29. We hope Kaleidoscope Discovery Center Teen Science Cafe will be selected as a presenter to share our rural STEM outreach to Teens story -- with teachers, administrators, STEM service providers, and other non-profit leaders who attend.

Sign up below -- Attendance is Free and meals are provided during the conference. It is a great opportunity to network with other STEM professionals and volunteers from MO, and learn about the resources of the S&T Ku**er Center for STEM, MASN, and other resources and projects in STEM across the state!

STEM Next is hosting another career chat for teens this month featuring industry leaders from BAE Systems, Illumina, MEFA, and RTX to share how they forged their career paths in STEM.

This career chat is an interactive conversation perfect for older youth. We'll help demystify high-tech industries and explore various career pathways in STEM.

Led by our own teen **Flight Crew member Shireen ** from Arizona, youth will have the opportunity to hear from and ask questions of:

🧪Karina Moreno, a biotech engineer and process development engineer at Illumina, an international biotech company.

💻 Lori Seuch, chief information officer at Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA), a quasi-state authority located in Boston, Massachusetts.

✈️ Brittany Wheeler, D. Eng., associate director of manufacturing and Operations at RTX, an aerospace company.

🛩️ Jennifer Lemon, an engineer at BAE Systems, an aerospace company.

This event will be recorded and shared with all registrants, so you are welcome to register and participate as a group live or view it after the event. We also appreciate sharing the opportunity directly with educators, teens and families!

NASA Artemis Career Chat next Wed. Sign up with link in post.

Step inside the world of space exploration this Engineers Week at a live STEM Next Career Chat focused on the careers behind NASA’s Artemis II mission.
Join us on Wednesday, February 25, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM ET for a special conversation about the people and professions powering the next era of deep space exploration. Set to launch in early March, Artemis II will mark the first crewed flight around the Moon in more than 50 years.
This Career Chat will feature NASA’s George Gorospe, Lockheed Martin Corporation systems engineer Chelsea Partridge, and other professionals working in the fields that make Artemis II and other space missions possible. Young people will hear how they turned their interests into real careers, what it takes to support missions like Artemis II, and the many pathways to a future connected to space.
