Congratulations to the newly crowned PhD graduates, Dr. Sargun Kaur, Dr. Adrian Batista Planas, and Dr. Sutapa Bhattacharya! Their hard work finally paid off! A big shoutout to their PhD mentors, Dr. Nam, Dr. Dawes and Dr. Choudhury. We also appreciate Dr. Sotiriou-Leventis for hooding Dr. Planas on Dr. Dawes’ behalf.

Congratulations Chikadibia for this incredible achievement!

Chikadibia Genevieve Edward, a Ph.D. graduate student in Dr. Risheng Wang’s group of Chemistry, has been awarded a 2026 Pathways Travel Award for her poster presentation at the 2026 NextGen Pathways Symposium, hosted at Missouri S&T (March 12–13, 2026). Her poster, titled “Engineering a DNA–Polymer Hybrid Nanocarrier for Sustained Delivery of 2-Mercaptopropionylglycine for Prevention of Cataracts,” was recognized for its excellence.

Congratulations Sutapa Bhattacharya for successfully defending her PhD thesis! Sutapa worked under the mentorship of Dr. Choudhury. Great deal of support and encouragement by her thesis committee members Dr. Chernatynskiy, Dr. Woelk, Dr. Stavropoulos, and Dr. Nath are highly appreciated.
