This is my last week on Facebook. Meta has made us believe that our relationships (and our businesses) rely on Meta. Part of me believes it, and I really want to prove those parts (and Meta) wrong.

My Nature Therapy Guide work is about the healing powers of getting lost in time in the woods.

Which is kind of the opposite of the addictive powers of getting lost in social media scrolling.

Which is one of the reasons I decided to leave by the end of the month.

Which is why this is the last time I will be posting my event dates here.

I am so excited to be guiding monthly Mindful Saunters for Missoula Parks and Recreation this year, starting with the Vernal Equinox. We will move to different parks and conservation lands each month, and I will craft unique invitations for each event.

If you are into handwritten notes, human connection, nature, mindfulness, and coming to your senses in guided mini-retreats, you should join me in 2025.

I am going into hibernation for the winter season but I will be back for the Spring Equinox.

Since I will be off social media by then, you won’t hear about my events here anymore. If you leave me a comment or message me, I will gladly add you to my Tree Mail list and you won’t miss your spot in the circle.

“Where is the growth?” one of my mentors used to ask me when I came to her with difficult decisions.

❓Quit my job?

❓Leave my marriage?

❓❓❓Yes? No? Now? Later? Never?

Since I first considered leaving social media, I’ve asked myself the question: “Am I stretching my comfort zone by learning how (and who) to be here, or by remembering how to be without?”

For a long while, the answer was staying while giving fewer f*s about likes, hearts, comments and typos.

Now, it’s in leaving and having tea by the tree with my fear of abandonment and loneliness.

She isn’t liking this leaving-social-media business one bit. But she has become good friends with curiosity over the last few years and the two of them have agreed to give it a go.

Integrity is more than pleased in her role as benevolent guidance counselor.

What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?

Guess what! Your true Nature knows exactly what it is here to do. You just need to unplug from the noise so you can learn to listen, again, to its desires.

Join me for my last event of the year. Welcome winter and celebrate the fact that this dark-at-five nonsense is finally turning around. Or maybe you are like me and enjoy being outside in the dark? You are welcome either way. The land don’t care.

This is also the final installment of the seasonal Native Plant Garden Immersions. If you all come, I bet the Montana Natural History Center will say “yes” to another series next year.
