🎓 Preparing Rogers students for what comes next.

This week, several staff members from our Rogers Honors Academy, Rogers Advanced Programs, Rogers Public Schools College & Career Scholarships, Rogers Public Schools Launch, & HS/MS counselor teams traveled to Minneapolis for the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) Conference to learn alongside college admissions professionals & educators from across the country.

Counselors from all three high schools AND four RPS middle schools:
✅Elmwood Raiders
✅Kirksey Cougars
✅Lingle Middle School
✅Oakdale Middle School

We heard from author Arthur Brooks about happiness, purpose & living a meaningful life.

Attended sessions on how AI is changing the college admissions process, & explored the future of work!

We also met College Essay Guy Ethan Sawyer who signed his newest book!

Perhaps most importantly, we connected directly with colleges & universities at the counselors’ college fair for upcoming & future RHA trips.

Why does that matter for Rogers families?

Because the college landscape keeps changing, & we want our students to have people in their corner who are paying attention, asking questions, & building relationships that open doors.

In Rogers Public Schools, college & career readiness is about creating opportunities & helping every student find their path.

We’re proud to do that work for our kids.

College. Career. Military. Whatever comes next. ❤️

…And can we give a 🫶 to our AMAZING middle & high school counselors?!

They truly do it ALL. ❤️

They listen, encourage, problem-solve, celebrate, advocate, wipe a few tears, give a little tough love when needed 😉, & help kids figure out what comes next.

They don’t just work with schedules, transcripts, & college applications.

Or common complaints, breakdowns, & random request.

They work with the whole child, every single day.

We sure are lucky to have them in our kids’ corner! 🫶🎓❤️

We 🧡 Quiz Bowl

Congratulations to the Heritage Quiz Bowl team! The team finished 3rd place in this year’s Pioneer Invitational, hosted at Gentry High School. The team competed against some of the top teams in the state. Coach Barham thinks this year’s team has what it takes to go far in each tournament. Congratulations, War Eagles! 🦅

Rogers Academy of Leadership & Innovation (RALI High School) was proud to host today’s NWA Chess Tournament, bringing together talented students from across the region.

Today, Rogers Public Schools hosted several administrators from the Little Rock School District to showcase the K-12 Cambridge International Education pathway at:

✔️ Janie Darr Elementary School
✔️ Kirksey Cougars MS
✔️ Rogers High School-Arkansas

We also found out yesterday we’re expanding the Cambridge program in 2027-28 to:

✅ ReaganRoyals Elementary
✅ Lingle Middle School
✅ Rogers Heritage High School

We’re so thankful to the Arkansas Department of Education for supporting advanced programming with accelerated learning pilot grants to support district collaboration & implementation for Cambridge in Arkansas!

Our advanced learning 5th-graders at Reagan Elementary, Tillery Elementary, & Northside Elementary toured the Alice Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) this morning.

It was the perfect culmination to our brain unit, & we’re so proud of our kids!!

They took endless notes in their field guide journals & asked the best questions to AWSOM faculty.

Calling ANY volunteer!

Whether you're retired, currently employed, or simply want to help the Rogers Public Schools, we'd LOVE to have you volunteer for 2 hours (8-10 AM) on Tuesday, Oct. 20th, at Lingle Middle School for the first round of Amazing Shake - Work the Room.

All you need to do is talk with students for 2-6 minutes at a time. It's truly one of the easiest and most fun events you can do to help our future generations learn how to talk with adults, shake hands, make eye contact, and carry on meaningful conversations.
