Dear Bee School Members,

Our next class is scheduled for April 18, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The session will be held in the activity center behind Restoration Church, located at 622 N. Townsend, Ada, OK. Please park in the back of the church and arrive 10-15 minutes early for sign-in, as we will begin promptly at 9:30.

Please note the following deadlines and updates:

- RSVP: Please confirm your attendance by April 14th.
- Equipment & Bees: Pre-order all equipment, NUCS, and Queens by April 10th.
- Pickups: Pre-ordered equipment can be picked up after class. Caucasian Queens will be ready on April 15th, and VSH Queens will be ready by April 30th. NUCS are expected around the first week of May.

Remember to bring a notepad, a pen, and any questions you may have.

Equipment list that you will need to get started in beekeeping.
Deep Box (Super), Telescopic Lid, Bottom Board, 10 Frames, Inside Feeder, Hive Tool, Entrance Reducer, Small Hive Beetle Patties, Pollen Patty (sub),
**Smoker**or Apisolis (from Hillco)** **Oklahive does not stock either of these items and a pest management plan.

Our NUCS are sold out, however a Tulsa Beekeeper that we recommend has some available at this time. Five frame NUCS with a mated Queen for $215
Please let me know this week if you are interested. We will try to order together and can arrange to get them to our area in one load (end of April or first of May)
** Note to first time Bee Keepers** The time frame to purchase NUCS in Oklahoma occurs End of April through first week of June. (WEATHER DEPENDENT) Most producers start taking orders in December. It's a great idea to learn about beekeeping before making the investment.

We have had several students that have reached out for advice on catching swarms and doing cutouts. We will try our best to answer your calls. We will send an email with some of the equipment and tools you may need when you go out to catch or retrieve a colony.
Please be prepared in your apiary with a hive set up with frames of drawn comb, a feeder of 1:1, pollen substitute, and access to a frame of brood, before you go get them.
Reach out if you are unable to go retrieve them and we can find a student that is available and has the resources to give them the best possible chance of survival and success in setting up home in their new hive.

We will have Caucasian queens from Georgia available around April 17th. The order list will close on April 4th, 2026.
VSH Queens from Heart T Farms (Tim & Trudy Mills) (VSH queens grafted) 3/26/26. Unknown number available at this time, ready to sell 4/30/26.

Oklahive is a local, family owned Bee Company that sells many different products. Here is a sample invoice of some prices on various equipment. We also sell NUCS, Queens, bee wax products, propolis, honey and more.

Come join the Oklahive Bee School (free) for education on beekeeping with an opportunity to learn- for beginners to advanced beekeeping. (Next class April 18th in Ada, OK, please RSVP)

We are building a honey factory for all Oklahoma Local beekeepers to have a place to bottle their honey as well.

Prices for Hive Setups (wood ware) will be sent through the Oklahive Bee School emailed as well.
All hive components available for purchase before and after class.

All classes are ran by donation to help with supplies. Please RSVP before April 10th.

Hello Everyone,

The class tomorrow will be in the apiary, due to low numbers. If you would like to come for some one on one or small group in the hives. I will be doing some inspections, mite washes, queen locating, feeding, and apiguard treatments. You can come for an hour or 3 hours. I will be heading out to the south apiary around 9:45-12:45. Bee suits and boots are mandatory.
Text me when you arrive and I will have someone bring you down to the apiary, if I am not at the house. The address is 5269 County Road 1600, Roff Oklahoma 74865
The 12-PM to 2:00-PM class will be cancelled.

Hello Oklahive Bee School Members,

Hope you all did well through the dry August. Our bees were busy despite the hot dry weather. We did see a lot of activity in the bermuda grass that was seeded out in late August. They seemed to fix the wax on the frames that were harvested and some have quite a bit of stored nectar and honey again. There has also been a slow but steady amount of pollen coming in as well.
We have more than usual fall flowers in our area and everything has greened back up. Fall feeding is just around the corner.
Please join us for class on September 20,2025. We will be discussing some very important fall techniques and duties. Let's keep our colonies healthy and provide optimal conditions for overwintering.

Hello Bee School Members,
I forgot to mention the intermediate/advanced class will break at 11:30.
There will be a Queen Grafting observation/practice and finding the queen in a hive practice at the same time, you can choose which one you would like to attend.

There will be a finding the queen practice for the new beekeepers at 1:45.
Please come early to classes if you have placed orders for equipment, so we can get them taken care of as much as possible before classes.

*** The apiary and practices will only be held if there is enough participation.

Hello Bee School Members,

Class is quickly approaching this Saturday, March 29th. There will be split sessions.

The intermediate/advanced beekeeping skills from 10:00AM-12:00PM
New (1st year Beekeepers) 12:30-2:30 PM
You are welcome at both classes. (please be early to register, snack, visit, purchase equipment and shirts etc.) Cash or Checks
The class will be held under the cabana at 5269 County Road 1600, Roff. Oklahoma. Call Tim 580-421-3354 if you are unable to find our house.
Please bring your bee suits, gloves and suits if you want to participate in the 1/2 hour session in the apiary.
Drinks & snacks provided.
**Please remember the classes are offered by donation to help cover expenses.
If you are new to beekeeping or have overwintered your first time these classes are especially important for you to attend!

It is located just North of the CLEET facility off of Highway 99.
North of Ada. When you turn west off of the hwy you will see a
Cornerstone Kids Ranch Sign. Also, Look for the yellow & black
official BEE Flag Sign for the second turn..
Please try and be there by 9:45 to check in and grab a drink and snack.
