Bishop Miege High School was established in 1958 by the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. Miege was named in honor of Bishop John Baptist Miege, the first Bishop of the territory of Kansas. Bishop Miege was instituted as a co-educational archdiocese school to serve Northeastern Johnson County. Today, the school's geographical boundaries have expanded, and the school enrolls young men and women from throughout Johnson County and Wyandotte County, Kan., and Kansas City, Mo.

The Miege Board of Trustees met last week for an all-day retreat with professional development, faith, and fellowship to prepare for the new school year.

We are grateful for their leadership and faithful commitment to sustaining the mission of Bishop Miege Catholic High School. Their work strengthens the legacy of Miege, allowing the school to grow in excellence and opportunity for generations to come.

From the cheers and high-fives to the smiles of our Herd leaders welcoming them in, Freshman Welcome is one of our favorite Miege traditions because every Stag deserves to know from day one that they belong here.

🏆 A LEGEND REMEMBERED. A LEGACY FOREVER.

On August 16, the legendary late Terry English will be inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame at the Huhtamaki Shield Club at Sporting Kansas City.

A proud Bishop Miege Class of 1968 graduate, Terry dedicated 45 years to his alma mater, building one of the most successful girls basketball programs in Kansas history. As head coach, he led the Stags to an incredible 22 state championships and finished his career with a remarkable 910–168 record.

But Terry’s legacy goes far beyond wins and championships. He was a teacher, mentor, coach, and Stag through and through. His impact on the lives of his players, students, fellow coaches, and the Bishop Miege community will continue for generations.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Coach English and the lasting legacy he left on Bishop Miege Athletics. ❤️💙

The Bishop Miege Stags & Stems Cutting Garden spent a morning this week at The Don Bosco Centers teaching seniors the art of flower arrangements.

The garden is maintained by students and community volunteers and has provided arrangements for events and as St. Therese blessings to the community.

The garden is located on the south side of the building next to the chapel. Stop by and take in the beauty of nature!
