The beauty of hybrid schooling - one day you’re enjoying an exciting day at school with your classmates, and the next you’re taking an early morning walk with your sibling before doing lessons at home with a cup of orange juice (and coffee for mom!).

Week 2 at The Kainos School!

We’re only two weeks in and already mastering the important stuff: asking great questions, solving problems, making friends, and figuring out exactly how high you have to raise your hand to get called on.

Kainos is in full swing and we’re loving it. 🌱

What a FIRST DAY! 🎉
We officially kicked off our very first year at The Kainos School, and what a joy it was to finally see our classrooms filled with laughter, excitement, and eager students!
And now…it’s time to slow things down for a few days! Families get to enjoy time together doing lessons at home before we’re back in the classroom. We love that our hybrid model gives families the opportunity to have slower days, meaningful family time, AND the excitement of classroom learning!
Can’t wait to see everyone back in the classrooms next week!

🎨🇪🇸✨ Meet More of Our Kainos School Team! ✨🇪🇸🎨

We’re excited to introduce four more wonderful members of The Kainos School team who will be helping make this year extra special for our students!

🌟 Katie Avery — Kindergarten TA
Katie will be joining our Kindergarten classroom as a Teaching Assistant, helping support our youngest learners as they grow, learn, and discover the joy of school!

🇪🇸 Eloisa Joyner — Spanish Teacher
Eloisa will be bringing the Spanish language and culture to our students! We’re excited for our students to have the opportunity to learn a new language and experience the joy of communicating across cultures.

🎨 Rachel Dorsett — Art Teacher
Rachel will be helping our students explore their creativity through art! We can’t wait to see the imagination and talent that comes to life in her classroom.

📚 Tim Sia — Foundations Teacher (Upper Elementary)
Tim will be teaching Biblical Foundations to our upper elementary students, helping them build a strong foundation in the Word of God.

We are so thankful for the amazing team God has brought together for our first year at The Kainos School! 💙 We know our students are going to be loved, encouraged, challenged, and inspired by each of these wonderful educators.

🌟 Meet our 3rd/4th Grade Teacher, Ms. Mary Chatt! 🌟

Ms. Mary brings a variety of experience in education, having served as a school administrator and private school teacher, as well as homeschooling her own children. We’re so excited to have her experience, wisdom, and heart for students as part of The Kainos School!

Outside of the classroom, Ms. Mary helps lead FaithHouse Church in Tarboro alongside her husband, Pastor Mike Chatt. She loves serving her church and community and pouring into the next generation.

And when it’s time for a little pick-me-up, you can find her enjoying her favorite drink: a hot sugar-free vanilla latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon! ☕️🤎

We are so thankful to have Ms. Mary joining The Kainos School family! We can’t wait for our 3rd and 4th graders to get to know her! 📚✨

🌟 Meet Our 2nd Grade Teacher, Ms. Caley! 🌟

We’re so excited to introduce Ms. Caley Hovanec, our 2nd grade teacher at The Kainos School!

A Nashville, NC native, Caley brings a unique perspective to the classroom through her experience teaching as a missionary in Thailand. She is excited to bring her experience, enthusiasm, and love for learning to The Kainos School!

Outside of the classroom, Caley is a wife and mom to a sweet 2-year-old son. She loves hiking, traveling, spending time outdoors, and making memories with family and friends. 🌿✈️👨‍👩‍👦

We are so thankful to have Ms. Caley joining our Kainos family, and we know our second graders are going to love having her as their teacher! 💙

🍎 Meet Our 1st Grade Teacher, Ms. Debra "Dee" Hendricks! 📚

We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Debra "Dee" Hendricks to The Kainos School as our 1st grade teacher!

Ms. Dee brings more than 30 years of public school teaching experience to our classrooms. She is Reading Recovery Certified and also served as an Instructional Coach, where she modeled reading lessons and supported fellow teachers in strengthening their literacy instruction. Her wealth of experience and passion for helping children become confident readers will be a tremendous blessing to our students.

When she's not in the classroom, Ms. Dee enjoys gardening, reading poetry, teaching Sunday school, and drinking hot vanilla lattes. ☕🌿

We know our first graders are going to love learning with Ms. Dee, and we can't wait to see the wonderful impact she'll have on our school community! 💙

✨ Meet Our Kindergarten Teacher, Ms. Darlene! ✨

We are so excited for you to get to know the wonderful teacher who will be leading our Kindergarten class this year!

Ms. Darlene brings 10 years of classroom teaching experience and, before that, had the joy of homeschooling her own three children. She has a heart for helping young learners grow and thrive in a loving, Christ-centered environment that is also a lot of fun!

When she's not in the classroom, you'll find her cooking, hosting tea parties, reading a good book, spending time with her husband of 36 years, or making special memories with her two grandchildren. And if you're wondering how to brighten her day, bring her some Doritos, gummy bears, or Ruffles potato chips! 😊

We know there are quite a few excited kindergarteners who are counting down the days until they get to meet Ms. Darlene—and we can't wait to welcome them into her classroom! 💙🍎✏️
