Biology Lab #3 was today -- (FINALLY 😣😣)!! I had a little bit of trouble obtaining this specimen when I taught biology to Grace and Joshua a few years ago, but ultimately I WAS able to obtain it🤷🏾‍♀️.

I attempted to obtain Elodea leaf live culture for this Lab last week and placed an order on September 21, 2023....... which caused us to have to wait until September 27th in order to do the lab😣🤦🏾‍♀️ since they only deliver live specimens on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. At checkout I chose the earliest delivery date of Wednesday the 27th. Imagine my shock and surprise when the specimen was NOT delivered on the 27th😳🙁. So I called the company on yesterday..... and am informed that they would overnight it out ....and that I had failed to notify them of my desired delivery date🤔🤔. In the interest of progress....I simply asked them to release the specimen and overnight it.

This morning, however, I see that I received an email from "Regulatory Affairs" saying that Elodea is an invasive species and they suggest that I contact My local USDA or State Fish and Wildlife office to obtain a permit to ensure the safe import and transport of the materials I've ordered. 😳😳😳

So I responded to their email requesting them to simply refund my original method of payment. I made it to PetSmart this morning and obtained Labelia cardinalis.....and fortunately, we were able to complete the lab today!😁😁❤️

IMPROVISATION.....it's a homeschooler's superpower!!!💪🏾👍🏾💥

1. To become familiar with the intricate design of plant cells
2. To develop skill in using the high power objective of the microscope

Biology lab 2: Using the Microscope

Purpose :
To learn the parts and basic use of the compound light microscope .

Introduction :
The compound light microscope is one of the most important tools of the biologist. It consists of a series of lenses that magnify and focus light rays to produce an enlarged image of a specimen. In this lab, Trinity began developing skills in microscopy(the use of the microscope), which will enable her to explore the hidden worlds that only it can reveal.❤️❤️

My Joshua is a rock star🥰❤️......couldn't find the "Vacation Begins" decal to add to my calendar today ....and Joshua whipped this one out for me in less than 10 minutes!!!❤️❤️❤️

I MIGHT have to see if he'll make a better one for "Vacation Ends" now too!

Really began last week when this old calendar I've been using didn't have a Juneteenth decal.....and he made that one TOO!!🥰❤️❤️🤗

O Captain, my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weather'd every rack, the prize we sought is won,

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it q***r
To stop without a farmhouse near

I am searching diligently for my list of things I wish I'd never done so I can add "Teach Algebra" to it.😂😂😂 It has just TODAY surpassed fractions and even long division in difficulty to teach😣😣🤦🏾‍♀️.

Nevertheless.....Trinity has indulged me and we have made a change of venue from the classroom to the bedroom ......and I am praying for BETTER.🙏🏾🙏🏾

Sunrise and Sunsets

“That must have been the sun!”

A dominie in gray
