Reinhardt Elementary Music

Bravo to our 4th Grade musicians, visual artists, and recording artists on their performance of “The Noisy Paintbox.” 🎶🎨

In preparation for this performance, students learned about prominent artists and their artwork from various historical time periods. They also studied music and composers from the same time periods. They were able to create art-works inspired by Monet, Van Gogh, DaVinci, and Picasso. They then composed/arranged musical pieces that were recorded in our new WRKT recording studio. These recordings were displayed by QR code with their artwork for an immersive art show.

They also performed a musical inspired by the life and work of Russian artist, Wassily Kandinsky. Thank you to the Rockwall ISD Education Foundation for funding our grant, “Melody Meets Masterpiece.”

Enjoyed working with our district music teachers today!

I want to send a shout out to a very talented former Rocket, Phoebe, for her selection into the 2026 All-State Large School Mixed Choir and her beautiful performance at TMEA this weekend. The choir is comprised of 224 musicians selected from 15,000 that began the audition process in the fall. That is a prestigious accomplishment! We know you are a Yellowjacket now, but you’ll always be a Rocket to us, and we are proud to have you representing us!

Our Reinhardt Recording Studio (official name still to be determined) is beginning to take shape! 🎙️🎶🎧⏺️

This project is being generously funded by the Rockwall ISD Education Foundation through our grant “Melody Meets Masterpiece.” Students will be studying artists and music from various historical time periods, and creating artwork in those styles. They will pair their artwork with music that will be recorded in the studio. Music will be displayed with the artwork through a QR code to provide an immersive arts experience for our Rocket families.

You may also notice the mixing tables and computers that we received through our “Fifty Years of Flow” grant in 2023. These will have a permanent home in the recording studio to continue offering students ways to create, arrange, and edit music.

Fridays mean it’s Tote-a-Tune time. Thanks to a generous grant from the Rockwall ISD Education Foundation four years ago, our Reinhardt students have been able to enjoy the privilege of checking instruments out of our Tote-a-Tune library to continue making music at home. -a-Tune

Congratulations to all of our TMEA Region 3 All Region Band qualifiers! Best of luck to our EIGHTEEN Area qualifiers as they continue to prepare for Area auditions on January 10 and an opportunity to be in a TMEA all state band or orchestra!

Our Reinhardt Choir joined up with the choirs from Jones, Garcia, and Hartman to sing at the Dallas Stars Sing for Santa event. The , we watched the Stars take the win!
