What if professional development helped you reconnect with your own joy while learning skills that can transform the lives of children?

This video was captured during our Foundations Training, where participants experience mindfulness through both movement and stillness. The practices are engaging, evidence-informed, and designed to support nervous system regulation, emotional wellbeing, connection, and learning.

One of the most meaningful pieces of feedback we receive is that participants leave feeling more informed, more connected, and more joyful.

Foundations is a comprehensive training in developmentally appropriate, whole-child-centered practices that can be applied in classrooms, therapeutic settings, community programs, and at home. Participants gain both an understanding of the science behind regulation and a practical toolbox of strategies they can immediately put into practice.

When adults experience regulation, connection, and belonging themselves, they are better equipped to create those conditions for the children they serve.

That's the power of this work.

Empathy is one of the most useful skills we can develop for wellness and connection. We can’t force it we have to nurture and practice it…

What if the most important subject in school isn’t math, science, or reading… but empathy?

Since 1993, Denmark has required every child aged 6-16 to take a weekly empathy class.

Not as an add-on. Not as a nice-to-have.
As a core part of education.

The outcome?
🌍 Among the lowest bullying rates in the world
🌱 Consistently high kindness and well-being scores
🤝 A culture where emotional intelligence is as valued as academic achievement

It raises a powerful question for all of us; parents, leaders, educators, and employers:
Are we teaching the next generation how to understand each other, not just outperform each other?

In a world driven by competition, Denmark chose connection. And it’s paying off.
Imagine if more school systems did the same.
Imagine if more workplaces did the same.
Empathy isn’t soft.
Empathy is a skill.

And it might just be one of the most future-proof ones we can teach.

Should empathy be a required part of education or maybe even workplace everywhere? What do you think?

🌈 PRIDE IS MORE THAN A CELEBRATION. IT'S A REMINDER. 🌈

A reminder that every person deserves to feel safe, seen, valued, and loved exactly as they are.
At Create Calm, we believe that belonging is not a privilege, it's a human need. When children and adults feel accepted for who they are, they can learn, grow, connect, and thrive.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the courage it takes to live authentically, the power of community, and the beauty that comes from embracing our differences.
May we continue creating spaces where everyone feels welcome, every voice is heard, and every heart knows it belongs. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Your nervous system called. 📞

It doesn't need another cup of coffee.
It needs you to shake it out.
Stretch. Wiggle. Dance. Bounce.

Thirty seconds of movement can help release tension and remind your body it's safe.

Weekend assignment: less overthinking, more shaking. 💙

💙 MEN NEED SAFE SPACES TOO. 💙

Too often, men are taught to stay strong, stay quiet, and carry the weight alone.

But real strength isn't pretending everything is okay.

It's asking for help.
It's speaking honestly.
It's taking care of your mental health.

This Men's Mental Health Month, let's remind the men in our lives that they don't have to navigate life's challenges alone.

A simple "How are you, really?" can make all the difference.

💙 Check in on someone today.
💙 Listen without judgment.
💙 Remind them they're not alone.

Mother’s Day weekend can hold so many emotions at once.
Love, gratitude, grief, longing, joy, tenderness, and sometimes silence.

For some, this weekend is filled with celebration and connection. For others, it may stir memories of loss, complicated relationships, infertility, estrangement, or the ache of a mother they never had the chance to know.

And for many, it can be all of those things at the same time.

One of the most important things I’ve learned through yoga therapy and mindfulness is that healing begins when we allow ourselves to acknowledge what is true, without judgment.

So wherever you find yourself this weekend, I hope you move gently with yourself.
Take the walk. Rest when needed. Breathe deeply. Reach for support. Honor what is present instead of forcing what “should” be felt.

To the mothers, caregivers, nurturers, grieving daughters, chosen family, and those carrying tender hearts this weekend, you are seen. 🤍
