About me: I am a cancer-survivor who has now surrendered my life to God and to farming. After over ten years of working at the biggest hospital in Boston, MA I decided I am now dedicating my time on the farm to live my (second) happy life and bring everything back to earth with my own hands. This is my form of gratitude to God for helping me get through one of my life’s most difficult moments. It
all started in October 2020, when all of sudden after my usual 10-hour shift, I suddenly found myself very weak and overworked. I brought myself to the emergency room and immediately they admitted me. Within a short period of time, the medical experts determined I had bile duct cancer and they had to conduct several surgeries to my body. Within a few weeks, I lost over 20 lbs and I can not longer go to work. Within three months, I lost my youthful strength and some of my daily living skills. I was forced to retire from my day job and recover from this diagnosis. I was only 67. With the pandemic in 2021 and my “retirement”, I realized I was drawn back to farming, back to where I started; back to where my ancestors started their lives. My wife and I were offered the idle farm that her grandfather owned for many years and we bought it with the thought of bringing “life” back to the land. In April 2022, we came back in the Philippines and began our farming journey. This land is God’s miracle to us and this is my way of thanking and acknowledging the ancestors of this land, the land of Lupe Felix and its many descendants who have cherished this land of hopes and dreams. I am honored to uphold the traditions of agricultural life and I am here to share with you my affinity with this piece of land. I invite you to join me, through my pictures, videos and livestream as I till, grow and develop this 100-year old, 2.5 acres of land located in Camiling, Tarlac Philippines. I hope this page will inspire you to 1) Live a simple and happy life and 2) Love the land you have. Salamat apu,
Conrado S. Miguel
