We are so proud of the students’ work to build stability, confidence, and long‑term self‑sufficiency. We could not be prouder of them!

It is that time again, our annual showcase where our seniors compete to demonstrate exceptional skills in demeanor, dress, soft skills, and charisma. Who will emerge as our next outstanding winner for The Excel Center Amazing Shake.

We would like to thank representatives from Goodwill Mission staff, Think Big, Rockford University and City of Rockford Head Start who volunteered as judges at this amazing event.

We are exceptionally proud of the ingenuity and thoroughness exhibited in our students' final projects for Gaming Development, where Quentin guided students through an exploration of gaming history and essential elements of game creation, culminating in pitches to a panel for constructive feedback.

Last week, in the English Language Arts department, Heather's Class concluded their Creative Writing Unit with a 2026 Book Launch event showcasing the diverse literary works of its student authors! 📚

The writers crafted stories across multiple genres, including narratives about their children, hybrid pieces blending different styles, and stories developed further using Mentor texts. This celebration highlighted the exceptional writing talents of students at The Excel Center. 🎉

Rock Valley College hosted a group of Excel Center students for a comprehensive tour to explore industry certification options available as part of their graduation program requirements. We appreciate RVC for showcasing the numerous possibilities available to students for their future educational pursuits.

Appreciation is extended to Rock Valley College for sharing their Dental Assistant Program with our students, who gained insight into the 8-week curriculum and the opportunities available in this in-demand career field. 🦷 🪥
