Zion Outreach's Literacy Program: Choosing to Read

Share

We believe that children learn to read by reading. We match children's Lexile reading ability with books that the children choose with their ability range.

We service struggling readers by testing each student for their Lexile reading. We place them in a group of four students with one teacher. Since, we believe that students learn to read by reading, we use our digital card catalog of over 3,500 books to help students find books of interest to them that they can read. Each book in our library has been evaluated as to its Lexile (reading difficulty)
