The children could relate to the idea of being unsure about how to approach a new neighbor and even what it would be like to be in an unfamiliar space- in this case a new country. We also introduced the idea of replication with this coloring page.

It's been a cold winter so far in northern Illinois. Now that the sheet of ice has melted, we were able to go on a walk two days in a row. This week, we've been exploring birds. The children were great at spotting the birds out and about this warmer winter day.
Another amazing book from our local . Counting and finding the birds got a little tricky on some of the pages.

πJust like that, we blasted off into space and made our way back to earth just in time for a new school year. We're already getting glimpses of the season changing here in Northern Illinois while collecting fallen acorn tops and exploring the few leaves that have found their way to the ground. There are still lots of flowers in the garden and watermelon ripening on the vine. I look forward to continuing to explore with this amazing bunch of tiny humans in my little preschool. π
