Here we are, halfway or so into Fall 2025!! I hope you've all been well and staying studious! 🤓📚 Let's just get right into it, there's a lot to cover:

❌ At this point in the term, for the vast majority of class types, there is no further reimbursement for dropped courses or withdraws! Please, if you need to consider dropping, contact us first!

🚨 IF YOUR BILL HAS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED, IT COULD MEAN THAT YOU HAD ⭐INCOMPLETE REQUIREMENTS⭐ FOR SOME OF YOUR AID! Financial Aid can assist you with this via [email protected] 🚨

💲 Check your account details through Wingspan> Account Details card> Account Portal.

💸 The FINAL PAYMENT DUE for ALL PAYMENT PLANS is November 1st. The payment plans are designed so that your account balance is below $1,000 by the time registration rolls around. SPRING PAYMENT PLANS will becoming available sometime in NOVEMBER.

🌷 Regarding Spring Term: REMINDER THAT WE ARE DOWN TO 1 DEADLINE ‼ No more extensions!! The Payment Deadlines will now be set at the latest possible date, giving you the maximum amount of time to get your arrangements in place! Don't slack!! Contact us if you have questions or concerns! 👋

🙅‍♀️ I will also be applying Registration Holds to students who have UNCASHED // EXPIRED REFUNDS. This is to get your attention so I can get you your money!

🌞 Hi everyone, I trust you're all enjoying your Summer! 🍓 Let's jump right into all the big changes and updates, including the upcoming Fall term! 🍂 Are you looking forward to the new academic year?

🤩 As you can see, we've updated our name to Student Account Services! We believe this name change clarifies our role within the University (especially in being frequently confused with the Financial Aid Office).

💡 At Student Account Services, we oversee your billing, payment plans, schedule protection and drops, refunds, and we do apply registration holds for various reasons (such as for high balances and uncashed/expired refunds). 💰 Financial Aid oversees your aid package: loans, grants, scholarships, SAP appeals, and FAFSA ([email protected] / (803)323-2189 / Sykes House).

🍓 HOWEVER - if you are using housing or a meal plan, those won't be applied to your account by Residence Life until May 1st.

💅 As promised, here's a breakdown of how to calculate tuition fees with the new rate structure!

🤓 Something I noticed when comparing the old to new rates is that part-time enrollment status (under 12 credit hours) rates are the same as before. 💰 The main difference is that full-time status from 12-14 credit hours is a discounted rate for all types of students, including Out-of-State and Graduate! Anything +over+ 15 credits will cost more than the previous full-time flat rate.
*Note: The examples below are not exhaustive of all student types*

Examples:
~Out-of-State Undergraduate Tuition
Part-Time Rate: $1,166/credit hour
New Full-Time Rate: $934/credit hour
Previous Full-Time Flat Rate: $13,999
New Rate @
12 Credit Hours: $11,208 ($2,791 LESS than prev. flat rate)
15 Credit Hours: $14,010 ($11 more than flat rate)

~In-State Graduate (Campus-Based) Tuition *Excludes MBA*
Part-Time Rate: $653/credit hour
New Full-Time Rate: $521/credit hour
Previous Full-Time Flat Rate: $7,813

Other Notes:
🧾 EBills for Summer term will begin in late April, and EBills for Fall term should start in early July.

💲 If you have an unexpected balance due at this point.. for example, you expected a federal loan to go through that hasn't yet.. it probably means you have incomplete aid requirements! OR if you have a balance and didn't accept loans, you can still retroactively do that through the Financial Aid Office!

💰 If you want to use financial aid for Summer term, you'll need to complete the Summer Aid Application!! Go to winthrop.edu > 🔎search (top right) "Summer Aid Application" > click the link that says "Financial Aid - Forms Online" > scroll down to the bottom of the webpage to "Summer 2025 Forms" ! Contact Financial Aid if you have any questions or need assistance with this process 👇

🚨 INFO DROP!! 🚨

👋 Hello everyone! As you are probably aware, some pretty big changes to our tuition structure are now in effect. So - how will your bill be impacted??

😨 Changes in pricing, especially something like tuition, can be concerning.. but these adjustments do offer significantly more flexibility!

🤩 For example, Undergraduate students taking 12-14 credit hours will notice a reduced tuition charge (I am including the total amount per credit hour, including tuition, activity fee, and technology fee).
🤔💭 Previously, enrolling in 12 or more credits was a flat rate. For an In-State Undergraduate student, the flat rate was $6,999 per semester for full-time status, period. ‼ Now, if that student takes 12 credit hours, their tuition will be $5,604 - which is $1,395 LESS than the previous flat rate! For the same type of student taking 15 credit hours, the rate is roughly the same at $7,005 ($6 higher than previous rate). If that same student takes 18 credits, their tuition would be higher at $8,406.

⏳ It's that time already! ⌛

First off, I hope you're all enjoying your Spring semester and keeping your noses in the books 👀📖! We will be sending out another round of eBills on/around March 24, but you can check your balance and make a payment *any time* through Wingspan> Account Summary & Payments.

As you can see, registration holds will be applied ~Monday, April 7th if your balance is $1,000 or higher, then early registration begins a couple of days later 😨! If you're in a payment plan and have been completing all payments, then your balance will be covered by your last payment due on April 4th, a few days before we apply the holds.

By the way, would you like to see SFS in the Digs lobby for questions during times like these? Any suggestions? 😁🙏

💸Spring Payment Plans OPEN💸

👋 If you've got a balance due for Spring, make sure your Satisfactory Payment Arrangements (SPA) are in place by the Fee Payment Deadline on Dec 11!!

Participating in a payment plan counts as a SPA! If your SPA's aren't in place by the deadline, your course schedule is subject to be dropped... 🤧

👀 Your prior terms cumulative balance due must be BELOW $1,000 in order for you to enroll in a payment plan, and this balance WILL roll into your current terms payment plan.

💰 Also, make sure you've got DIRECT DEPOSIT set up for SPRING REFUNDS!!! Wingspan> Personal Information Tab> Personal Information Dashboard> Direct Deposit> Complete Accounts Payable method with Bank Account & Routing !! NOT YOUR CREDIT/DEBIT CARD .

🍀 VIP SPRING INFO 👇🦋

🤸‍♀️ We're wrapping up Fall term - meaning it's time to prepare for the next semester! Here are some important details:

🐸 Satisfactory Payment Arrangements must be in place by the FEE PAYMENT DEADLINE or your course schedule will be DROPPED 🐢

🐞 At least one of these Satisfactory Payment Arrangements must be satisfied:
-You completed payment in full including all prior balances.
-You enrolled in a payment plan and submitted the required first payment.
-Your financial aid has been accepted and the total of accepted* aid covers 100% of your fees and you have no prior balances greater than $1000.
-You have submitted any Third Party Sponsorship to Student Accounts Receivable (20 Tillman).
-You have an approved private loan and the loan has been certified and listed as "anticipated" on your Financial Aid page in WINGSPAN.
-You have met the requirements for the GI Bill or other veteran benefits.

🐛If your anticipated accepted financial aid creates an OVERAGE on your account balance, you will see a negative number for your balance due. Given that no further charges are applied to your account that exceed this overage, you may use these extra funds at the 📖bookstore📚 during the SPECIFIED TIMEFRAME...
.. If you still have a credit (negative balance) on your account by Jan 7th, you will likely be due a 💵refund💵 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you set up Direct Deposit for refunds!! It is faster AND safer than paper checks going out through 🐌 mail!

☘ Direct Deposit Instructions:
Log into Wingspan> Personal Information tab> Personal Information Dashboard> Direct Deposit, complete the requested information in the Accounts Payable Deposit section. *Please check with your bank to ensure you enter the correct ROUTING number and bank ACCOUNT number. DO NOT ENTER YOUR DEBIT CARD NUMBER.*

💰How to review & accept Financial Aid offers:
Wingspan > Financial Aid Tab > Award > Award for Aid Year: select 2024–2025 > Accept Award Offer tab > Review your offers & accept what you would like to receive. *NOTE: If you have any questions please contact the Office of Financial Aid via [email protected] // (803)323-2189 // Sykes House!

❗❗ You know what's really scary, though?? Not being able to register for Spring term 😱 Make sure you don't have a Balance Due Registration Hold! Holds have been applied to student accounts with a balance due of $1,000+! You may also have a Reg Hold if you have an uncashed paper check refund from August 👀💰..

💵 You CAN make partial payments to your account online!! Wingspan> Account Summary & Payments> Make Payment> Select an option, such as "Balance Due" and it will bring up a box where you can input how much you want to pay! 😁💳

💲 Cashiers Office DOES NOT ACCEPT CARDS. Butt hey do accept in person: cash, paper check, and money orders!

🚨SPRING REGISTRATION HOLDS🚨

👋 Hello, Eagles! In the spirit of keeping you all on track, registration holds will be applied to accounts with a balance due of $1,000 or higher on Oct 28😅 I know it isn't fun, but trust me when I say you 👏really👏 don't want to carry a balance forward!

👩‍💻 The system should automatically lift the hold once your balance is paid down, but in case it doesn't, please reach out to us at 📧[email protected] to manually remove your hold.
