We have had a few last minute cancellations! If you are free, please consider helping, as this means SO MUCH to our kids, staff, and our school library ❤️ we need at least one volunteer per shift to have the book fair open! 

Starting with tomorrow morning! 8:15 we will start to help set up the library. Please reach out if you’re able to help!

We need volunteers to make our Book Fair possible!

Our library teacher will be teaching classes throughout the school day, so the Book Fair can only remain open during the times we have volunteer coverage. Any shifts that are not filled will mean the Book Fair must close during those hours. If we are unable to secure enough volunteers throughout the week, we may not be able to hold the Book Fair.

All volunteers must be fingerprinted through the SAU54 office and registered as approved volunteers before Book Fair week. Anyone who has not completed this process will unfortunately not be able to volunteer for their scheduled shift.

Our Book Fair directly supports our school library and our students. Every purchase helps provide resources and new books for the library, while also giving our kids the opportunity to discover new stories, explore their interests, and experience the excitement of choosing books of their very own. A successful Book Fair means more opportunities to encourage a love of reading throughout our school community.

We know the listed shifts may not work perfectly for everyone! If you can help for only part of a shift or need a different start or end time, please reach out. We are happy to work with you—any amount of time you can give helps us keep the Book Fair open for our students!

Shifts will be:

Monday, October 26: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM | 1:00–2:30 PM
Tuesday, October 27: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM | 1:00–2:30 PM
Wednesday, October 28: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM | 1:00–2:30 PM
Thursday, October 29: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM | 1:00–2:30 PM
Friday, October 30: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM | 1:00–2:30 PM

YOU ALL ARE AMAZING!!!
We reached our goal of at least one volunteer per shift, which means the book fair will happen! We do still have a few slots left as a secondary volunteer, this will make it a lot easier if we have two people per slot. One to help kids shop, one to run the register!

We are also looking for assistance to help in setting up the fair this Thursday morning - 10/22. 8:15 you can leave your kiddo in the cafeteria with their class, and head down to the library! This will include various jobs, as in setting up the scholastic displays, covering the bookshelves, and bringing boxes from the shipping bay to the library (we do have carts!)

Thank you everyone for making this happen, and showing us once again how AMAZING our bear community really is.

🍬👻 CANDY WARS UPDATE: 2ND GRADE IS IN THE LEAD! 👻🍬

Our candy monster is getting hungry, and the competition is heating up at Salmon Falls! We tallied the numbers earlier last week and have a breakdown! 🦖🍭 2nd grade is currently in the lead with 530 donations, but Kindergarten is hot on their heels with 484! Can the other grades catch up before time runs out? 👀 Currently it's within reach for any grade!

We still have lots of openings for trunks, and we need your help!

🎃 SFS Trunk or Treat is back! 👻

Hi SFS Families! The PTA is excited to bring back our Trunk or Treat event on Saturday, October 24 from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM in the school parking lot!

We chose this time so families can enjoy Trunk or Treat with us and still make it downtown for Rochester’s community trick-or-treating from 12:00–3:00 PM. 🍬

🚗 We need families to decorate trunks!
This event is only as fun as the trunks that participate, and we’d love to have lots of creative, festive, and spooky displays for our SFS kids to enjoy!

You do not need to go all-out — a simple theme, some decorations, and a little creativity is all it takes. Whether you want to create a full Halloween scene or just decorate your trunk with some pumpkins and cobwebs, we’d love to have you join us!

Trunk participants should arrive at school any time after 9:00 AM so there’s plenty of time to get set up and be ready for the fun at 10:00 AM.
