I have never loved the way I look.
Even at my lowest weight, I still wasn’t happy. It was never good enough…I was never good enough.
I let outside voices influence me, infecting my mind, convincing me I would be more attractive if I “did something about my belly”. I once even had a male friend tell me that if I was sitting alone at a bar, he “wouldn’t come talk to me”.
So I gave in to the toxic diet culture that made me believe it wasn’t a workout if I wasn’t borderline hyperventilating and I needed to eat like a rabbit if I wanted to boost my metabolism. I’ve never hated my life more.
Today, I say f*ck that noise.
While I’m still learning to embrace my body exactly the way it is, I can honestly say that I love ME. I eat foods that nourish my body because I LOVE myself - not because I hate my belly rolls and jiggly thighs.
I believe we should be celebrating ourselves in every phase of the journey and not punishing ourselves for eating the brownie. And if you’re a thick girl like me, don’t wait until you’ve lost the weight to buy new clothes and be stuck wearing things you don’t love…
Wear what you want to wear NOW and wear it confidently. You deserve to feel good in your own skin ♥️
And if you’re not sure how to do that, I’d love to show you!
On Saturday Jan 21st, I’ll be at the first ever “Our Bodies Roc” plus size clothing swap styling mannequin forms and offering tips for looking and feeling your best in your newly swapped clothes.
They say this time of year is all about “new year, new me” but I’m all about the “new year, REnewed me” energy ✨
I hope to see you there, friends 😘
