Our last day of Spring minis wrapped up just before mother's day! What a FUN Spring season it's been. We photographed over 20 families and had the BEST time doing it.

Senior Season!!!!

Graduation photos are so fun. They truly are sessions that feel like the first "official" step into adulthood! Alexandra is so lovely isnt she?? Her and her sweet momma travelled over an hour for their session and it was SO fun to photograph.

Every Spring I photograph hundreds of kiddos for their school photos. It's the most chaotic, joy-filled time and I love every second of it. You would CACKLE at what I do to get a REAL smile from all of these little people. The teachers are always so helpful and the school directors are so gracious to invite me into their day!

This year, my three youngest kids are all attending the same precious little preschool. So, I brought my oldest - Judah- along with me when it was time for me to take their school photos.

Needless to say, the results were better than I could have imagined. Each year I'm so blown away by how much my kids have grown and changed. What a GIFT to freeze these little ones in time and capture who they are in this season.

I often joke that October for photographers is like April for accountants- it's busy!

This year, April has been that way and what a treat it's been!!

Meet Casey + Brandon. These two have the sweetest relationship. Their wedding day was absolutely precious! It rained all day, but you can't tell-- these two didn't let anything steal their joy! Surrounded by their closest friends and family, they danced the night away in each other's arms. They left the celebration in their granddaddy's ford coup. It was timeless and oh so lovely!

I've watched most of the kids in these photos grown from babies to toddlers to big kids. Every time we have a new family book a session with Anna Filly Photography, I secretly wonder how much life I'll get to share with them. It's so rare that someone books just one session and I find that the ULTIMATE honor.

Mini sessions are SO much fun. They're the perfect amount of time-- only 20 minutes. They're fun and stress-free because I don't leave you wondering what to do or how to pose. Countless moms start the session frazzled (because photos!) and then get their sneak peeks and are in awe. That's my FAVORITE part ;)

Faith Marvelee you are all things vibrant, adventurous & you live life to the fullest. You are a living exclamation mark 🥹♥️ You have the biggest heart and love tending to those younger than you (babies). You love the idea of being a momma & are always quick to keep your siblings in line. You don’t do anything halfway- you’re ALL IN! If there is music, you’re dancing. If someone needs help, you’re the first to offer assistance. You rarely sit still & if you’re moving, you’re running. You’re my only child who potty trained in one week just because they wanted to!

Faith, I love being your momma. You’re spicy & fun, carefree and tender. I love you, little one. Cheers to three !!

I just HAVE to share the coolest story about the Underwood Family.

When my youngest daughter was born, she was diagnosed as "failure to thrive". I knew I wanted to do everything in my power to help her gain weight, so I reached out to a local mom's group asking for donor breast milk. A sweet momma (also named Anna) had given birth to a baby boy that was a few weeks older than mine. She happily met me in parking lots all across Roanoke for almost a year to give me hundreds of ounces of breast milk. She not only fed her newborn, but mine!

That was three years ago. Today, that incredible woman welcomed her second baby-- a girl -- into the world! I got to capture her within 24 hours of her birth. What a precious, beautiful treasure!! Parker Grace, you have the most generous, gracious momma and I hope you grow up to be just like her!!

In the photography world, I'm what they call an "overshooter". ;) I often photograph faaaaaaar more images than what's needed or normal. My clients know that when they get a gallery from me, they're receive a LOT of stunning images.

The Davis family had the sweetest thing happen the day of their session. They're son, Aiden, started walking *hours* before our time together. We got to capture him take even MORE steps during the session! It was so precious to see his parent's giddy reactions to their precious first born. The pride and joy was contagious!!!

Wedding season is almost here, and I'd be lying if I told you that I wasn't absolutely excited about it!!!

Friends, meet Noel and Alida. I had the utmost joy of going on a missions trip to Africa with Alida last Summer. She sparkled and shined that whole trip!!! Now, she's sparkling and shining for a brand new reason : Noel.

Noel is confident, kind, tender hearted and such a sweet match to precious Alida. Alida is vibrant, abounding in beauty and SO smart. She has found her perfect complement in Noel and I cannot WAIT to photograph their wedding in August!!!

Our *last* weekend of Fluffy Floral Minis was so warm and joyful!! We had the most magical time chasing the light and capturing each session!! You'd never believe this location was in Roanoke City. The blossoms were SO was worth waiting for. The fluffy cherry trees, rustic fence and wide open field made the perfect backdrop for our client's beautiful families.
