I don't get to participate in as many creative photo shoots as I used to, but the opportunities that do pop up always prove to be rewarding. Even got to use the ol' 120 film Mamiya!
Big thanks to Molly Snell at Film - Design - Creation for organizing, the other photographers, and especially the models, many of whom wound up wading around in a river for a fair bit of time. You all were champs and you did an amazing job.

Got the opportunity to set up the photo booth again this year at William and Mary's Education Gala. It was a ton of fun as expected, and I really appreciate them inviting me back. Pictured is my lone photobomb at the end of the night.

So my wonderful and talented (and wonderfully talented) friend Molly organized a Woodland Creatures photoshoot with some friends. I've not had the opportunity to do much photography lately so I was eager to help out and try to squeeze some shots in. Between this and the Zombie shoot from many months ago it's safe to say there are few photo sessions more fun than the ones Molly puts together. Here are a few of my pictures from the shoot.

Last night I had the chance for the first time to set up and manage a photo booth at the William and Mary School of Education Gala. I'd say everything was a great success. Thanks for having me, and thanks to my good friend Kate for all the extra help, it wouldn't have been nearly as awesome without her ideas.

Some friends of mine in the airsoft club here in Blacksburg had been working hard on replicating a particular military unit and wanted me to photograph the end result. This was my first time using strobes in a confined space. I have a lot to figure out still, but ultimately I think it went well.

Between takes of a short zombie film I got to help a friend with. Wish I had done a better job capturing the involved makeup and costuming jobs, these still turned out alright though.

Admittedly, these were done several months ago, but they still turned out pretty well I think. These are members of an airsoft club at Virginia Tech. Similar to reenactment, all the fi****ms are fake and only shoot BBs, but a majority of the other clothing and gear in these shots is real, current issue military equipment.

Not dead. With the graduation come and gone and me beginning my life as a professional architect I've not had as much time for photography. I have recently, however, begun investing in snazzy lighting equipment, and now that I've settled into a groove at work maybe I'll have more time for shooting. Here's an example of what I've been experimenting with lately!
