🔴🟡🔵 Making Their Mark at Gudith Elementary! 🟢🟣🟠

Our kindergarten students at Gudith Elementary celebrated International Dot Day by reading The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds and discovering the message behind the story: everyone has the ability to make their mark!

After reading the book, our young learners put their creativity to work by creating dots for a special Dot Day mural along the new kindergarten hallway. Each dot is unique—just like the students who made them—and together, they create something beautiful as a community. ❤️

International Dot Day began in 2009 when teacher Terry Shay introduced his students to The Dot. Inspired by the story of a student who learns to trust in her own abilities, Dot Day has grown into a worldwide celebration of creativity, courage and collaboration.

What started with one small dot on a piece of paper continues to inspire people of all ages to be brave, get creative and make their mark.

We love seeing our youngest Warriors do just that! 💜

📚🧃 A little reading, a little juice, and a whole lot of bravery!

Mrs. Machlik’s kindergarten class kicked off the first day of school with a special way to help those first-day jitters disappear!

The class read The Pigeon Has to Go to School! by Mo Willems and then enjoyed a little “Jitter Juice” — a fun classroom tradition designed to help kindergarteners shake off those nervous feelings and get ready for a great year of learning.

Because starting kindergarten is a BIG adventure… and sometimes all you need is a good story, a little magic, and a cup of juice to help you feel right at home! 📖🧃

Welcome to kindergarten, Warriors! We’re so glad you’re here!
