Hello SHPE Familia! 💛
UCR SHPE Solar Boat traveled to Sacramento to compete in the SMUD Solar Regatta, going head-to-head with seven universities across California. After months of designing and building a fully solar-powered vessel, our team competed in sprint, endurance, slalom, and technical events—earning five awards: 3rd Place Overall, Judges’ Choice, Best Video, Best Presentation, and the Grit & Gumption Award. 🏆
This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of GCAP, BearTank, SHPE, and the Student Success Center. What started as a team of 8 has grown into a familia of 40+ members, united by passion and purpose.
Special recognition to our incredible leads for guiding and inspiring the team every step of the way.
