✏️ Sketch to Structure — Wednesdays
This week’s feature highlights ShaRena Steeple and her project, Folium.
Folium is designed as a residential and culinary mixed-use building located in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City. Taking inspiration from a dandelion, the design introduces soft, organic forms that contrast with the surrounding hard-edged urban fabric. Just as a dandelion can grow almost anywhere—even through concrete—the project reflects resilience and growth within the city.
Through thoughtful form and concept, ShaRena’s design explores how architecture can bring natural inspiration into the built environment.
💬 Architecture students—how do you like to translate natural forms into your building designs?
