Student club (at UC Riverside) geared towards bettering ourselves and society by the humanistic philosophy of Nichiren Buddhism.

The SGI Buddhism at UCR is a student organization devoted to peace, culture, and education with its values informed by the humanistic principles of Nichiren Buddhism. We take applied-Buddhism into our mainstream, 21st Century, lives and make a difference in our society via our own inner-transformation--often called our "human revolution". sitive change within the inner life of an individual will bring about a change in one's environment--a process that will ultimately effect a change in society" (Daisaku Ikeda). While focusing inward, waging our inner battles, and triumphing through life's inevitable obstacles, it is imperative that the youth of America should have an active role in shaping the future of the global community. Given this, we take action and address issues that impact us all. So if you want to learn about Nichiren Buddhism and how this practice can change your life and that of others in our community/world, come see us!
