Incoming and current high school students are invited to gain hands on experience in broadcast journalism and media production from CBU's award-winning students and faculty.
Campers will develop foundational skills in storytelling, filming and editing, leaving camp with a finalized news package to post on a platform of their choosing.

Wrapping up our grad spotlight series!! 🎓🎉
Meet Madi Goulet, a student whose time at CBU has been defined by leadership, service and community. She has served as Chaplain for the Student Nurses’ Association (SONA), a Resident Assistant at University Place and the College of Nursing representative on the Student Senate.
At CBU, she’s developed the hands-on experience, confidence and critical thinking essential for patient care.
Her favorite memory? Running down the halls of Tower Hall after finding out she was accepted into the nursing program - and having the entire floor celebrate alongside her. Moments like these are what make the CBU community so special. Congrats, Madi!

At the conclusion of every Spring semester, faculty and staff are invited to attend an award's banquet, celebrating their service to CBU.
This year, employees were honored for a combined total of 2,175 years of service, with gifts handed to those who have been with the university for multiple decades of service.
Awards were also given out for Employee of the Year, Distinguished Professor and Distinguished Scholar.

Savannah Morris, a political science senior, recently secured a full-time position in the White House!
Having interned for the executive branch's Office of National Drug Control policy under Daniel Boatright ('09) since January, Morris now looks forward to a permanent move to D.C.

Wrapping up our senior spotlight series!! 🎓🎉
At CBU, Mariela Castro found her rhythm through music, community and shared experiences. From performing in ensembles throughout the year to events like A CBU Christmas, her time has been filled the opportunities to grow as a musician and connect with others.
One of her favorite memories? Traveling to Italy with the School of Performing Arts and performing in beautiful venues alongside friends—an experience she calls a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Whether through performances, time spent with friends or life on campus, these moments shaped her experience and growth as a musician. Congrats!

California Baptist University announced that Dr. Rick Hall has been named dean of the Dr. Robert K. Jabs School of Business. Hall comes to CBU from Colorado Christian University where he served as professor and director of the master’s in business administration, master’s in organizational leadership and bachelor’s in healthcare administration degree programs. He will assume the role of dean on July 1, 2026.

The Kienel Leadership Institute is expanding its role beyond the classroom. Having worked with Moreno Valley and various departments within San Bernardino County for multiple years, they have recently established formal partnerships with both. Dr. Jason Kiker, director of the institute, says that through this new model, KLI will equip teams with tools they can apply immediately.

Learning a language can help build trust. Employees from Altura Credit Union are learning American Sign Language through a partnership with California Baptist University’s Center for Deaf Studies, equipping them to better serve Deaf members. It’s a reminder that meaningful service often begins with learning how to communicate.

One of his favorite memories? Welcoming freshmen as a First Year Experience leader and helping launch their college experience during Welcome Weekend.
From campus traditions like the Festival of Color to meaningful moments in the classroom, Eli has experienced the depth of community that defines CBU. And when it comes to choosing a favorite professor, he says it’s “like a parent choosing their favorite child,” but highlights Dr. Chute for his wisdom and pastoral heart both in the classroom and in the local church. Meet Kate Goodwin, a student from the Dr. Bonnie G. Metcalf School of Education whose time at CBU has been shaped by community, growth and a heart for serving others. From working as a campus activities intern and Recreation Center Customer Service Attendant to participating in discipleship group, intramurals and an International Service Project, Kate has been deeply involved across campus.
At CBU, she found a sense of “home” in the classroom—an experience shaped by professors like Dr. Julie Kim, who created space for growth, vulnerability and purpose.
Kate hopes to carry that same environment into her future classroom, loving her students as Christ loves them. Congrats Kate! 💙💛🎓

Representing the College of , Landon found meaningful community through his time as an FYE leader, building friendships rooted in faith and a shared desire to know the Lord and make Him known.
He’s especially grateful for professors like Professor Chavez, who not only taught but cared deeply for her students. Through CBU’s program, Landon gained the knowledge and calling to serve others well.
Landon plans to pursue a career as a firefighter, ready to make a difference in the lives of others.
