Here's a little something I would like for you all to take to heart.
Change in a country begins with one person. Each country reflects the inner peace or turmoil of its mass population, and so as one person changes they affect the rest of the population. One person has the power within them to bring massive change to their country through immense love and peace within themselves. But we cannot bring about peace and well-being to our country unless we have conquered that in our own life. Do you see? You cannot give what you do not have.
Each person's job is to bring utter harmony into their own life, and then they will become the greatest human gift for their country and the world.
Best Regards,
Charm
A note from Jenny! (December 12, 2011)
Best regards,
Charm
Hey guys so as we said earlier our meeting went great. We will be going to Colombia with Drs. Trenchard, Bolivar, and Thomas from Feb. 9-16. Charm and I are still trying to decide who we will be bringing with us to Colombia. The decision is based upon some key things Johnny Thomas brought up. You guys are all doing a great beyond great job! keep up the good work!
Filling you in on the details.
-Dr. Bolivar is our key person here so we need to make sure that we relay any information we exchange with any of our partners back to Dr. Bolivar via email. Jesus Moreno please forward me all the emails you've been sending back in forth with our partners in Colombia. Also, how are corrections on the curriculum looking? email: [email protected]
Leslie Busick & Danny Cruz Johnny wants you to add a small interview or something along the lines of such, of Dr. Bolivar, Dr. Trenchard, and possibly Dr. Thomas. He asked that we schedule an appointment with them so we go to their office a shoot a quick 30 second video of each of them. Whatever you guys think is best. Charmidale D. Tuazon and I give you the freedom to choose what you think is best. Dr. Thomas said that this would add credibility to our video. EXCELLENT POINT!
Johnny wants the video for Colombia.. hmm so is there any way we can use the same one for both Colombia and our US donors? What do you guys think? or do we need two videos? one obviously needs to be in spanish and the other in English. If it's possible that we can use one video, we can do it in english and add spanish subtitles. Don't forget that we have two different audiences and two different purposes.. but at the end of the day we're still trying to delivering the same story.
Michael Lancaster do you think that we can have an account set on wordpress.org by December 25th? We need the site up and running by January 10th. If you need any help, contact Alberdi De La Fuente. Alberdi when do you leave RV for break? Lanny please let me know ASAP. Text me, fb message me, or call me.
-Also, we've decided that we're going to start off with 50 displaced persons and 5 instructors. 1 instructor for every 10 students. The university will be using their facilities and managing the project in general. In particular, they will be conducting the educational part of the project and ADRA the micro lending. The instructors for the educational part will be selected by the university and we want that ADRA uses the governmental agency SENA to get us the instructors for the micro lending part.
-Next. Dr. Bolivar suggested that we can raise money and that the government has a lot of money that wants to give out but has a hard time releasing bc they don't trust the or believe in the leaders. He said that he has a contact that can help us match our funds. we're looking at $40,000. So if we can have the govt match us, we only have to raise $20,000.
-PR in Colombia: Dr. Bolivar said that he can create awareness in Colombia and put our project in the newspaper and television networks once we've launched the project. He will take care of this.
Charm met with Carol Bradfield on Friday. Charm can you fill us in on that?
Thanks guys for all! Charm and I will try to hold a general Colombia meeting soon. ♥
