In the recent issue of The Highlander addressing the venue change for 2020 Commencement, ASUCR President Julian Gonzalez said: “It’s concerning that we were not asked about a venue. I can probably speak for every fourth year by saying that I do not want commencement in Ontario. I want my commencement near the Bell Tower.”

Concert: Twillight Carillon Recital

Haunted tunes drifted over UC Riverside on Halloween 2016, as University Carillonneur David Christensen and guest carillonneur Dr. Gary Barnett teamed up for “Bats in the Belfry: A Halloween Carillon Concert.” The theme from Harry Potter was just one of the pieces they played to celebrate the carillon’s 50th anniversary. UCR students wanted it recorded and posted to YouTube.
