Our Notre Dame community gathered at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church earlier this week to celebrate the beautiful tradition of the May Crowning Mass. Fr. Paul also offered a special blessing for our seniors as they prepare for graduation, and our Peer Ministry students led a procession back to our Marian Grotto on campus in honor of our Blessed Mother Mary.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers in our Titan community! May God bless you for the love, strength, and faith you bring to your families and to our community each day.

Congratulations to Alumnus Derrick Johnson, Class of ‘00 and ND Head Football Coach, for being inducted into the Riverside Sport Hall of Fame last night for his involvement in athletics and impact in our community.

Derrick Johnson starred in football and track—rushing for nearly 2,000 yards and 39 TDs as a senior at Notre Dame while earning league MVP and All-CIF honors. On the track, he won multiple CIF titles and still holds school records. He went on to captain the University of Washington team, earn All-Pac-10 honors, and play five seasons in the NFL. Now, he’s back at Notre Dame as head football coach after a successful coaching career, including a 14-0 championship season in 2015.

Thank you Coach Johnson for all that you have done and continue to do to inspire our Titans!

Congratulations to Kaden Tennyson and Flor Castañón for being honored at the Riverside Sport Hall of Fame Parade of Champions as Notre Dame’s Male and Female Athletes of the Year!

And congratulations to Flor Castañón and Cooper Gallegos for earning CBAADA Athletes of the Year awards!
