Our sweet Bekah turned three last week!

We are enjoying our summer so far! Fun with friends and family, swim lessons, and headed to the mountains to camp next week!

Scissor Skills ✂️

I know it can be a little scary to hand your little one scissors but handling scissors well is such an important skill for early learners. We start with kid safe scissors, good supervision, contained area, and simple paper strips with freedom to explore cutting! Bekah turns three this month and asks to cut all the time so she was so thrilled when I asked her if she wanted to practice cutting.

Some of my favorite reminders are “Keep your thumb up,” and “Scissors only eat paper!”

Magnet Tile Matching

We are day 3 of Ryder feeling sick and Bekah is over staying home so I threw together this simple matching activity for her!

Proud of all this kid has learned in pre-k! Kindergarten here we come! ♥️

Peace out Pre-K! Onto Kindergarten! ♥️

Last night, I was reminded of this simple truth. Connection creates cooperation. When my kids feel connected (loved and seen) by me, they are way more likely to cooperate with me.

We played hide n seek last night which my kids loved. We laughed and enjoyed each other. With that connectedness, we transitioned to showers and bedtime and it was a a breeze. No whining, arguing, or complaining. Connection creates cooperation.
