Dean Dean welcomes the UWRF community back for the first day of 2021-22 school year! It’s my 52nd year of the first days of school - but it never gets old. I led the students on my scooter (horn beeping with joy!) to the college opening meeting. Have a fantastic Falcon year everyone!!! GO Red!

On this day in 2018 I donned my Melville clan kilt and tartan and proudly celebrated my Scottish family heritage in the Great Hall of Dalkeith Palace. While UWRF no longer rents the palace for our Experience Scotland program, I cherish my memories there. UWRF hopes to relaunch our very successful Experience Scotland program soon at nearby Newbattle Abby and I will return - kilt and all! https://newbattleabbey.com/ 🍀

Campus is coming back to life in so many exciting ways! Friday and Saturday are Nesting Days as our Future Falcons and their families visit to learn more about campus life. They tour residence halls. They get encouragement from speakers and hear from students just like them. Students learn about balance and being a success! The key thing -- UWRF has a LOT of resources available for students, and many of them centered in Rodli Hall. Not sure which one that is? Look for the new, giant falcon statue outside!

Congratulations to the 400+ students from the College of Arts and Sciences who graduated last Saturday. It is thrilling that we were able to honor all of our graduates with a live commencement ceremony and celebration, even while following all Covid-19 guidelines. Best wishes to you all!
