🐾🛁 Grooming Lab is getting ready for business! 🐶🐱✂️

Our Small Animal Science students have been hard at work learning the safety, procedures, and “how-tos” of animal grooming! Before we welcome community pets into the lab, students are practicing proper animal handling, bathing, drying, brushing, grooming-table procedures, PPE, sanitation, and—most importantly—how to keep themselves AND the animals in their care safe. 💙

This hands-on experience gives our students the opportunity to build real-world skills while learning what it takes to provide quality, compassionate animal care.

And all of this practice means one thing…

🌊💚 Calling all FIRST-YEAR FFA MEMBERS! 💙💛

Ready to learn more about FFA and start making your own ripple? Join us for the West Tennessee FFA Greenhand Conference!

📅 September 19th
📍 Dyer County High School
🚌 Leaving Ripley High School at 7:00 AM
💵 Cost: $20 — includes your conference T-shirt!
🍔 Students will also need money for lunch.

This conference is designed especially for first-year FFA members to learn more about FFA, meet members from across West Tennessee, build leadership skills, and discover everything FFA has to offer!

🚨 TWO IMPORTANT DEADLINES:

👉 SEPTEMBER 2: Students must let Mrs. Cagle or Ms. Carmack know they PLAN TO ATTEND and complete the sign-up form.

👉 SEPTEMBER 16: The $20 payment is due.

Think you can pick the best animal in the ring? 👀 It’s time to put those livestock skills to the test!

Ripley FFA Livestock Judging is getting ready for competition season, and we’re looking for students interested in joining the team!

You’ll learn how to evaluate:
🐄 Cattle
🐖 Swine
🐑 Sheep
🐐 Goats

Whether you grew up around livestock or have never judged an animal before, come check it out! We’ll teach you what to look for, how to place a class, and how to defend your decisions. 💪

🇺🇸 AMERICAN FFA DEGREE RECIPIENTS 🇺🇸

Ripley FFA is incredibly proud to recognize Justin Jones and Ty Crawford for earning the American FFA Degree! 💙💛

The American FFA Degree is the highest degree an FFA member can earn and represents years of dedication to agricultural education, Supervised Agricultural Experiences, leadership, and service.

Justin and Ty have continued to represent Ripley FFA well beyond their time in the agriculture classroom, and we are so proud to see their hard work recognized on the national level.

💙💛 Ripley FFA Representing at the Lauderdale County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting! 🌾

Tonight, Chapter President Travis Mendenhall and Chapter Vice President Karter Lyles, along with advisors Mrs. Cagle and Mrs. Carmack, had the opportunity to attend the Lauderdale County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting.

Travis and Karter represented Ripley FFA well as they shared a recap of our chapter’s accomplishments from the past year and gave Farm Bureau members a look at the goals and plans we have for the year ahead. 🌊

Karter also shared about his experience attending TGSAS (Tennessee Governor’s School for the Agricultural Sciences) this summer and how that opportunity helped him grow as a student and young agricultural leader.

We are incredibly thankful for Lauderdale County Farm Bureau and their continued support of agricultural education, FFA members, and the future of agriculture in our community. 💙💛

We are proud of these two young men for stepping up, speaking on behalf of our chapter, and representing Ripley FFA!

💙🌾 FIRST DROP OF THE YEAR! 🌾💛

Our first Ripley FFA Chapter Meeting of the 2026–2027 school year is officially in the books — and what a way to start! 🌊

We kicked off the year at Ripley City Park with burgers, hot dogs, games, plenty of laughs, and some good old-fashioned FFA fellowship. From getting tangled up in team-building activities to hanging out on the playground, our members jumped right in and made the evening one to remember!

One of the best parts? Seeing new faces alongside returning members and watching students from different grades come together. THAT is what FFA is about. 💙

This year’s chapter theme is The Ripple Effect, and tonight was our First Drop. Every friendship made, every student who gets involved, and every experience we share has the potential to create a ripple much bigger than ourselves.

We’re excited to see just how far our ripples travel this year. 🌊

Thank you to everyone who came out, brought food, helped cook, participated, and made our first meeting a success!

The first drop has fallen… now let’s make some waves, Ripley FFA! 💙💛🌾

🌊 Another Ripple Made at the Wilson County Fair! 🌊

We hit our travel goals for today and packed A LOT into one very hot, but very rewarding day at the Wilson County Fair! ☀️💙💛

We started our morning at the Ham Breakfast, where our students got to experience a pretty incredible piece of Tennessee agriculture — watching two Grand Champion hams sell for nearly $90,000! 🤯🐷

From there, Ripley FFA members jumped into competition across the fairgrounds in:

🐾 Veterinary Science
🐄 Livestock Evaluation
🐔 Poultry Evaluation
🔥 Grill Masters
🎤 Speaking Events
🌲 Forestry

It was a HOT one, but our students showed up, competed, learned, and represented Ripley FFA well! Days like today are about so much more than placings. They’re about new experiences, stepping outside your comfort zone, building skills, and seeing just how many opportunities agriculture and FFA can offer.

Every contest. Every experience. Every mile traveled.

🌊 It all adds to the Ripple Effect.
