A little background information: Petra started playing piano at the age of 5 and earned her bachelor’s degree in classical piano and audio engineering at the Robert Schumann College of Music in Duesseldorf, Germany. For 13 years she taught piano and early childhood music at the Armstrong Community Music School in Austin, TX as well as in her own private studios in Central Texas, and was the music teacher for ages 3 - 12 at the Lockhart Montessori School. Petra moved to New Mexico in 2021 and currently teaches piano at the Albuquerque Institute of Music and in her own private studio in northern Rio Rancho. She holds two master’s degrees in business and management but music education is her real passion. Petra is an experienced Music Together licensee. As a singer/songwriter and children’s performer she participated in several Family Festivals in Texas but finds the greatest joy in witnessing her students’ musical growth.
