Your head can be screaming doubt while your heart is still choosing faith.
Sometimes we think that if we really had faith, we wouldn’t feel afraid.
We wouldn’t have questions.
We wouldn’t notice the symptoms.
We wouldn’t have moments when our mind says, “But what if it doesn’t happen?”
But faith isn’t pretending those thoughts and feelings don’t exist.
Faith is deciding they don’t get the final word.
Romans 10:10 says:
“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Notice where believing happens.
With the heart.
Your mind may be trying to calculate everything.
Your emotions may be responding to what you see.
Your circumstances may be telling you nothing has changed.
But faith says, “I still believe God.”
Romans 8:7 tells us that the carnal mind is enmity against God and “is not subject to the law of God.”
Our natural mind wants evidence.
It wants to understand HOW.
It wants to know WHEN.
It wants circumstances to change before it feels safe enough to believe.
But faith doesn’t begin with what we can see.
Faith begins with what God has said.
So when your feelings are loud, don’t automatically assume your faith is gone.
Go back to the Word.
What did God say?
What did He promise?
What truth can you stand on TODAY?
Your feelings can change by the hour.
The Word of God does not.
And sometimes faith sounds like this:
“I don’t understand it yet.
I don’t see it yet.
I don’t feel it yet.
But I still believe God.”
