This week, we’re proud to highlight Tina Lowman, Facilities’ Warehouse Senior Store Clerk and Procurement Specialist!

With nearly five years of service at the university, Tina began her journey in Custodial Support Services before bringing her skills and positive energy to the warehouse team. She’s known for her welcoming attitude, approachability, and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it’s needed.

Tina continues to go above and beyond in her role, most recently stepping up as the 2026 P.I.T. Chair for Facilities’ Plant Involvement Team. In this leadership position, she oversees P.I.T. meetings, facilitates meaningful discussions, and actively engaging both committee members and senior leadership—ensuring staff voices are heard and valued.

Thank you, Tina, for your dedication and the impact you make across Facilities every single day!

Beautiful tulips are beginning to pop up across campus, bringing color and energy to our spaces. A huge shoutout to our talented Landscape Services team, who planted over 16,000 bulbs to make this seasonal transformation possible.

Where past meets present 📚✨

From late-night study sessions to passing between classes, the Great Hall in the Humanities Building has been part of the student experience for over a century. Opened in 1914 as the University’s original Academic Building, this space once held the library, classrooms, and even the President’s office — and today it continues to welcome generations of Spiders every day. ❤️💙

Congratulations to Suada Jusufovic, our P.R.I.D.E. Award winner! 🎉

Suada’s dedication and strong work ethic shine through in everything she does. As one nominator shared, “She takes pride in her work, keeps her assigned buildings tidy and welcoming, and is always prepared for the day.” Her positive attitude and supportive nature make a meaningful impact on both her coworkers and the campus community.

We’re incredibly grateful for our dedicated UR Snow Team ❄️ Since Saturday, they’ve been on campus working through extreme cold and challenging ice conditions to clear roads and walkways and keep our community safe. Here they are taking on Robins Stadium — thank you for going above and beyond!

Congratulations to Chris Harrison, our C.H.E.E.R.S. Award winner! 🎉

Chris sets the bar high every day through his expertise, initiative, and positive spirit. As one nominator shared, “This gentleman has a wealth of knowledge about his craft… he knows all of the old and new systems.” Chris consistently shares that knowledge with colleagues, taking the time to teach others and troubleshoot issues before they become bigger problems.

From “crawling through an attic on a hot day or under a house on a cold day,” to supporting oil and gas deliveries, real estate transitions, and everything from boilers to ice machines, Chris is always ready to help. His nominator summed it up best: “His knowledge is amazing,” his humor makes the workplace fun, and his supervisor calls him a “gem.” This HVAC technician truly exemplifies a work ethic that inspires everyone around him. Thank you for your many years of dedication, Chris!

After 15 years of dedicated service to the University of Richmond, today we celebrate Nyadeng Arop as she begins an exciting new chapter—spending more time with her family and grandchildren.

We are incredibly grateful for all Nyadeng has done to care for our University community, especially our students and student-athletes. Her special bond with our athletes and the women’s basketball team has left a lasting impact that will not be forgotten.

She will be deeply missed, but we are so happy for her. Once a Spider, always a Spider. ❤️🕷️
