Talk about a summer of fun! Steward’s Summer Experience, which features more than 150 camps in arts, athletics, tech, innovation, and community service, kicked off today. Engineering, dance, leadership, improv … whew! Summer Experience has something for everyone in junior kindergarten through grade 12. Steward’s June 3 faculty and staff recognition ceremony was an opportunity to celebrate milestone years of service, honor this year’s retirees, and present the peer awards. We also gave a blue-and-gold farewell to our colleagues who are moving on to new adventures. Thank you to all of our faculty and staff … you make the Spartan experience exceptional!

On June 1, the Steward community gathered on Waddell Terrace for a retirement reception honoring Kathy Karmolinkski McElfresh (Lower School technology facilitator), Catherine Hathaway (kindergarten teacher), and Sandy Dacus (Lower School music teacher). It was a celebration filled with joy and an opportunity to thank our retirees for their service. Best wishes, Ms. Karmolinski McElfresh, Ms. Hathaway, and Ms. Dacus!

Lower School Beach Day is a Steward tradition! Last Thursday, Spartans celebrated the last day of school with beachy fun, including games, art, and summery treats. It was "shore-ly" a good time, and you'll "sea" for yourself when you look at these photos. Happy summer break, Spartans! We'll miss you, but these photos will help "tide" us over until fall.

Today we celebrated our amazing fifth graders during a recognition ceremony honoring their accomplishments and the exciting transition ahead to Middle School. In the Lora M. Robins Theatre, students were recognized for their leadership, character, creativity, and school spirit. Congratulations, Spartans — we are so proud of you! 💙💛

Today we celebrated our eighth graders at their recognition ceremony as they wrapped up their Middle School journey and looked ahead to Upper School. Congratulations, Spartans! 💙💛 We are incredibly proud of all you’ve accomplished both inside and outside the classroom, and we can’t wait to see what comes next.

Steward’s Class of 2026 graduation ceremony, which took place on May 22, was filled with spirit and celebration. Our first graders took the audience on a fun-filled journey when they performed “ ,” a play based on the book “Richmond Rocks” by Kate Hall. Onstage in the BlackBox Theatre, our charmingly costumed Spartans visited historical local landmarks and learned that Richmond really does rock!

At the May 19 spring choral concert, Spartans treated the audience to songs they performed at Carnegie Hall earlier this year! The evening also included a collaboration with indie rock band Wine and Warpaint and the Upper School chorus. The spirited evening concluded with the presentation of choral awards.
