Still pinching myself from this amazing event in NYC! I had the incredible honor of being asked by author and friend Adriana Trigiani to create a diorama for Senator Tim Kaine in honor of his wonderful book, Walk, Ride, Paddle. Always fun to see Adriana, but even more fun to go with my friend Kitty Gravitt!! Senator Kaine and his family were so kind -- and genuinely nice people. Grateful to have this opportunity of a lifetime! 🥰😍

In the "you are never too old to learn" department.... I took piano lessons this year after a 44-year break from playing, and had my first piano recital (with a bunch of much younger players 😜) last Saturday! Lucky for me I had the amazing (and patient) Sylvia Cooper for a teacher. I played Bach's Minuet in G Major and Rodger's Edelweiss. Very nerve-wracking but fun to achieve one of my goals in life. 🥰

Hi! RAM members - please share this with friends and family who may be interested in testing. Thanks!
We have had to put testing on hold for most of this year, but I am pleased to announce that we are finally able to hold a test session (proctored by Cathy Saydlowski) in Glen Allen, Virginia at the following date and time:
DATE: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14
TIME: 4:00-6:30 PM
LOCATION: TWIN HICKORY LIBRARY (Meeting Room – near the lobby area)
5001 TWIN HICKORY ROAD
GLEN ALLEN, VA. 23059
Testing costs $60 and covers the cost of two tests. You will only need to “pass” one in order to be invited to join Mensa, so this gives you two chances! For those under the age of 18, a parent must come to register the minor for testing. If you would like to reserve a seat for testing, and/or have any questions about testing, please contact me at [email protected]. Thank you for your interest in Mensa!

Members of the Richmond Area Mensa chapter forge connections through games and fellowship. Says one member, “Before joining, I thought of Mensa as a brainy think tank where advanced physics and Latin were discussed by everyone. Instead, I found a warm, welcoming community of people.”
