This week is VCU’s first ever Disability Advocacy week!!! We are proud to contribute to the lineup of events this week! 🩵

🎨Monday: Studio Two Three print truck(Accessibility themed), in the Commons Plaza, 11am-1pm
📺Tuesday: Opening reception for Cabell Screen exhibition, in the Compass Plaza, 1:30pm-2:30pm. AND a special interest mix & mingle in the underground 12pm-2pm
♿️Wednesday: PACE stories & lunch (discussing disability/advocacy), in the PACE center, 12pm-1pm

Open Call! Want to see your art on the Cabell library screen? For Disability Advocacy Week at VCU, we’re looking for artwork submissions that’ll be displayed from the end of March through April!

Submissions are DUE MARCH 20TH!!! Selected artists will be notified by March 23rd. This will be VCU’s first ever Disability Advocacy Week and we’re so excited to see your amazing artwork! 💜

Our next event will be a collaboration with STEM in Art on Thursday, March 5th. 6-7:30pm in the SGA Senate Chambers- located behind the POD market in the Commons. Join us for some Easter painting and learn about the science of vision!!!

Happy Spring semester! Next Friday 1/23 will be our Annual Slumber Party!!! From 5-7 we will flip the SAEO office into a blanket fort! We’ll have hot chocolate, food, and games for our first meeting of the semester. Wear something comfy! You are more than welcome to bring your own blankets too. We hope to see you there 💜

Huge thank you to everyone who’s been a part of ASDCC this semester. Whether this is your first semester, or a returning one, your role in this community does not go unnoticed.

Our final activity of the semester included pumpkin painting! The weather was not on our side, but you guys still showed up and that is greatly appreciated! With Finals almost over, just know you’ve made it this far already, Winter Break is in sight!

As for next semester, we have a bunch of plans lined up for you all already! Stay tuned for exciting news… especially in January! 😉
