Okay…so let’s talk about why we practice skill building within vocalize: 𝑴𝑼𝑺𝑪𝑳𝑬 𝑴𝑬𝑴𝑶𝑹𝒀!
Here is Heidi Riggs’ Vocal Studio’s Day 1 Singer, Lauren MacKenzie Riggs , performing Roxie in 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘨𝘰. The shape of her mouth (aka space) is why she doesn’t need to push to create the voice that can cut through the room. 🤯 If a performer had to think about their technique to sing well, well….they’re already in trouble. So, this is why we study (and continue to study!)…to make the hard [read: often impossible] stuff easy. 🤓
*[a] vowel sounds are shaped kinda like a square or a tall rectangle (to minimize “spread” ), and you can see Lauren is shaping space like the pro she is.
