Educators across Kentucky deserve a safe workplace. 25,000 reports of assault on Kentucky school staff have been REPORTED in the last five years. It is critical that real experiences are heard.
KEA launched this School Behavior Support Survey that is educator-led, anonymous, and confidential, and for every public school employee. It is designed to capture honest, firsthand experiences so that we can bring meaningful solutions to educator safety.
Take this survey and tell your coworkers. https://loom.ly/knIyMQo

MCEA headed to Frankfort this morning with Central District-KEA to meet with our legislators. Thanks to Rep. Gordon, Lewis, Truett, and Bray for meeting with us. We definitely had some productive conversations and garnered support for a bill MCEA is working on for next session.
Special thanks to Sen. Thomas for letting two of our Madison County students page with him today! My daughter had an amazing time, learned a lot, and came back with a great experience!

If it becomes law, this bill would ban public school educators from serving on school boards and shift boards from all elected to some elected and some appointed positionsβremoving the voice of voters and the expertise of those who know our schools best.
Take action now: Contact your SENATORS and urge them to reject SB 4.
Call 1-800-372-7181 or reach out online.
This is about protecting public education, local control, and the democratic process.

SB4 is a serious concern for educators and our communities.
If it becomes law, this bill would ban public school educators from serving on school boards and shift boards from elected to appointed positionsβremoving the voice of voters and the expertise of those who know our schools best.
With only 10 days left in the legislative session, things are moving fast in Frankfort. Harmful, last-minute legislation like this is a real risk.
Take action now: Contact your legislators and urge them to reject SB 4. Call 1-800-372-7181 or reach out online here: https://www.kea.org/contact-your-legislator/
