It’s with a heavy heart to write that we’ve lost a brother in the line of duty, especially a Academy mate. Rodney Smitty Smith, the oldest in class 417 but he never showed any weakness. The details on the east side of the state, all I know Smitty was over taken by flood waters in his Patrol unit while on duty. He was recovered early this morning @ around 0500 03/03/2018. Smitty was loved by his family, friends and especially by his brother and sisters in blue! Please Rest In Peace Rodney! We will take it from here!
