The special Essence Festival Curators Double Issue hit newsstands on Tuesday — and I'm featured in a timely piece titled “Down, But Not Out!”, written by the one and only Ebony Flake.

Ebony expertly chronicles the experiences of three Black women who have been impacted by the mass elimination of 600,000+ Black women from the workforce.

I had a chance to weigh in on it as an expert whose work attracts and resonates with those who have been impacted as well as those who don't want to be left empty-handed if their number is called next.

Word on the street is there’s an overwhelming sense of corporate fatigue.

The money is great, but the cost of the “bag” has you considering other possibilities.

And I get it.

Most will tell you not to leave “that good government job” or that “you’re crazy to even consider walking away because there are SO many people who’d be grateful to have your job.”

Whether those opinions are solicited or unsolicited, they aren’t helpful in the moment when you’re trying to make it all make sense.

You’re wise enough to know that it’s a risk that you’re considering taking without the peanut gallery projecting their fears and reservations on you.
