SCHOOL ART CHALLENGE: CAN YOU FIND A FACE?

Artists, it’s time to start LOOKING! 👀🎨

Have you ever looked at something ordinary and suddenly thought…

“HEY! That looks like a face!” 😲

You’ve discovered PAREIDOLIA!

Pareidolia is when our brains find familiar images—especially faces, animals, people, or objects—in things that aren’t actually meant to be those things. Artists love finding these little moments of “found art” hiding in the world around us!

🔎 YOUR CHALLENGE:

Look around your home, yard, neighborhood, classroom, or wherever you happen to be and see if you can find:

👀 A face in an object
🐸 An animal hiding in a shadow
😲 A silly expression in a household item
🌳 A person or creature in nature
☁️ A familiar shape in the clouds
🏠 Something ordinary that suddenly looks like something EXTRAORDINARY!

📸 TAKE A PHOTO of what you find and share it in the comments of this post!

But there’s one important rule:

🚫 DON’T CHANGE IT!

No drawing on it or adding anything to make the image look like a face. The fun is finding the artwork that is already hiding there!

Parents, students, siblings, and staff are ALL invited to join in!

Let’s see how many examples of pareidolia our school community can discover! 👀🎨

Mrs. Korenek will start… Can YOU find the face?
