HighTide Nutrition Coaching and HighTide Personal Training have had the pleasure of working with Terry and Lori over the past 3.5 months, and we couldn’t be more proud of their progress!

Building lasting habits takes consistency. By focusing on one habit at a time, Terry and Lori have been able to create sustainable changes that have added up to incredible results.

We’re thrilled to see their progress, including weight loss while maintaining muscle mass—which is no easy task!

One of the biggest wins we’ve celebrated is Terry being able to reduce his blood pressure medication under the guidance of his healthcare provider. This is a powerful example of what can happen when you consistently put in the work and take a holistic approach to your health.

Terry and Lori’s dedication, consistency, and commitment to building healthier habits have paid off. We’re excited to continue watching them grow stronger and healthier!

The foods you eat every day do more than fill you up… they help shape how you feel, recover, age, and perform. 👏

Focus on the nutrients that support overall health:

💪 Protein → supports muscle, metabolism & healthy aging
🥦 Fiber → supports digestion, gut health & blood sugar balance
😴 Magnesium → supports stress management, sleep & hundreds of body functions
🍊 Vitamin C → supports immune health & antioxidant protection

You don’t need a perfect diet—just consistent habits built around nutrient-dense foods.

Small choices each day can lead to big results over time.

We’ve been taught to measure health by numbers on a scale… or a BMI chart.

But health is so much bigger than that.

What if we started measuring health by things that actually impact how we feel every day?

✨ How well you’re sleeping
✨ Moving your body in ways you enjoy
✨ Connecting with friends & family
✨ Eating foods that nourish and fuel you
✨ Having energy to show up for your life
✨ Building resilience and coping with stress

The scale can’t measure your habits.

BMI can’t measure your quality of life.

Real health is about creating a life that supports your physical, mental, and emotional well-being—one step at a time.

Which one are you focusing on lately?

⚡ Electrolytes do a lot more than just help with hydration.

These essential minerals play a key role in:
💧 Hydration
🧠 Nerve function
⚖️ Fluid and pH balance
💪 Muscle contractions
❤️ Blood pressure regulation
🔥 Managing inflammation

Electrolytes help attract water into your cells and keep fluids balanced throughout the body—making them especially important during hot weather, exercise, sweating, illness, or periods of dehydration.

Many of the electrolytes your body needs can be found in everyday whole foods like fruits, vegetables, dairy, legumes, nuts, seeds, and quality proteins.

Focus on building balanced meals first, then consider adding electrolytes when your activity level, sweat losses, or hydration needs increase.

Can't stomach food before a workout? We get asked about this all the time. Let's talk EAAs and how they can help support performance! Essential Amino Acids (EAAs) are the 9 essential amino acids your body must get from food or supplements.

Essential amino acids are important because your body needs them to maintain, repair, and build muscle. They are a great option to support performance and are easier to digest than protein powder. Protein powder could be a great post-workout option.

Every day, your body breaks down protein from tissues in your body, and uses the protein that you consume to build new tissue. In order for the protein synthesis to occur, an adequate supply of both essential and non-essential amino acids is vital. If any one amino acid is missing, protein synthesis gets halted. I don't recommend taking branch chain amino acids (BCAAs) because they only contain 3 of the 9 essential amino acids.

Try taking EAAs with your water just before and/or during your workout for a nice energy boost. This helps to start the process of muscle repair and growth immediately.

What’s your favorite EAA supplement? I like Kion, Momentous, and Idealage!

🍉 Hydration isn't just about what you drink—it's also about what you eat.

Many fruits and vegetables are made up of 90% water or more, making them a delicious way to support your hydration goals, especially during the warmer months.

Adding more water-rich produce to your meals and snacks can help support:
✅ Hydration
✅ Energy levels
✅ Digestion
✅ Exercise recovery
✅ Overall health

Which water-rich fruit or vegetable is your favorite?

Balance Your Plate. Fuel Your Body. 🍽️

Keep it simple with the Plate Method:

🥦 ½ = non-starchy veggies
🍗 ¼ = lean protein
🍠 ¼ = quality carbs
🥑 + healthy fats for balance

Build better meals with real food choices:
✅Protein: lean meats, fish, shellfish, eggs
✅Veggies: leafy greens, cruciferous veggies, colorful mix
✅Carbs: sweet potatoes, squash, beans, whole grains, fruit
✅Fats: avocado, nuts, seeds, olive oil, coconut oil

Your meals don’t need to be perfect—just balanced and consistent!

I’m incredibly proud to highlight this week’s success story — Coach Steve!

Back in January, Steve set an ambitious long-term goal: to get below 12% body fat by the end of 2026 while continuing to build lean muscle mass. He took this on while also recovering from a knee injury, fully understanding that nutrition, recovery, and consistency would be the keys to long-term success.

And this week… Steve officially hit his goal!

Over the past two years as a HighTide Nutrition client, Steve has made huge progress — losing 15 pounds, dropping 11% body fat, and adding 6 pounds of muscle.

But what I’m most proud of is the work he’s put in over the last few months by taking an even more holistic approach. He’s focused on increasing fiber intake (already nailing his protein), improving overall nutrition quality, and increasing walking while his knee continues to recover.

Steve is proof that when you stay consistent, adapt through setbacks, and trust the process — the results will come.
