Today, we remember the fallen.

Those lost in war, and those still carrying the war home.

Talemt Match Event May 20th!

Calling all construction, aggregate, industrial trades, and apprenticeship employers! 🚧👷‍♂️🏗️

Lane County employers are needed to help inspire and connect with the next generation of skilled trades professionals at the upcoming Talent Match event on May 20, 2026, at WorkSource Lane in Eugene.

This is an opportunity for employers to directly engage with motivated high school juniors and seniors from across Lane County, as well as Lane Community College industrial trades students who are actively exploring careers in construction, heavy equipment, aggregates, manufacturing, and the skilled trades.

Employers will have the chance to:
• Conduct brief mock interviews and provide professional feedback
• Share information about careers, apprenticeships, internships, and open positions
• Build relationships with future employees before graduation
• Strengthen the local workforce pipeline and support the future of the industry

Employer participation is free, but space is limited. Construction and aggregate industry partners are strongly encouraged to register and participate:

Young people can’t chase a career path they never see.

That’s the real issue.

The trades offer: Good pay, Real skills, Less debt, a clear path forward.

But we have to show that story early and often.

What’s one trade career more students should know about?

This is awesome to see. Congrats, Nick! Big respect to Mr. Hill for helping build the kind of skill that opens real doors.

Every school should be asking this question: Are we giving students enough chances to find hands-on careers before they graduate?

Big news from Lava Bear country! Bend Senior High student welder Nikolas Tone qualified for the Project MFG National Welding Competition! He's one of just 24 students nationwide selected from 410 competitors across 154 schools.

Nick will travel to San Diego to compete for a $10,000 cash prize and will be featured on the show Clash of the Trades.

An incredible achievement and a testament to his skill and hard work. If you see Nick, be sure to congratulate him! 👏

This is a career.
Not a backup plan.

Blueprints.
Decisions.
Real skills.

The trades need thinkers, not stereotypes.

At My Work My Future, we show what skilled work actually looks like.
Showing why it’s a smart path forward.

College is one option.
The trades are another.

Pick what fits.
