PCWL is a women's service organization created to provide support to nonprofit organizations and schools located in the Pearce High School attendance area.

Formed in September 2010, the Pearce Community Women's League is open to women who either live in the Pearce High School attendance area, or whose children attended Pearce High School. Activities include volunteer projects, social outings, special interest groups, and an annual fundraiser. We welcome new members whose children have graduated from Pearce HS! Send us an email today!

PCWL Book Club met tonight for our fifth book of the year: The Turtle House by Amanda Churchill. Moving between late 1990s small-town Texas to pre-World War II Japan and occupied Tokyo, an emotionally engaging literary debut about a grandmother and granddaughter who connect over a beloved lost place and the secrets they both carry. Overall, we thought it was good not great but we had a lively discussion!

Join us next month for our sixth book of the new year: The Emperor of Gladness Ocean Vuong.

PCWL Book Club met last night for our fourth book of the year: Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid. The book is set against the backdrop of the 1980s space shuttle program and set at Johnson Space Center. We had a great discussion about the book's characters, space shuttle program, and astronaut training!

PCWL Book Club met tonight for our third book of the year: Trust by Hernan Diaz. Trust is the 2022 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel that explores wealth, power, and deception through four interconnected, competing narratives about a wealthy 1920s financier and his wife. The book is a literary puzzle, presenting different versions of the same story through a novel, an autobiography, a memoir, and a diary, leaving the reader to piece together the truth about the couple's immense fortune and their relationship. It's a complex, genre-bending work that examines capitalism, class, and the manipulation of facts. Great discussion about the book by all those in attendance.
