The Horticulture Program is a nationally recognized and accredited leader in horticulture education preparing students for expanding career opportunities in nurseries, garden centers, ﬂorist shops, ﬂoral wholesalers, plant brokers, landscape contractors, lawn service companies, interior plant companies, greenhouses, golf courses, parks, botanical gardens, landscape management, event planning, desi

gn build, plant production, plant breeding, horticulture sales and marketing, and horticulture supply companies. The Agronomy, Crop, Soil Science, and Agriculture Technology Programs provide excellent connections with local and international Agricultural companies doing research through the farm on campus, as well as coordinating internship and employment opportunities throughout their network in the industry. Employment opportunities for students with a background in Agriculture are excellent.

We are excited to announce that we recently received the Weber reversible plate compactor that Skyler C. Westergard had been working with ICPI to get. We would like to thank ICPI for their contribution in helping us get this great piece of equipment.

We want to thank ICPI and iQ Power Tools for helping our program get this amazing new IQ power saw. Skyler C. Westergard has been working with ICPI in his courses and recently applied for and received a Tools for Schools Grant from ICPI for some exciting hardscape equipment. We have received this IQ 360 Saw and will also soon receive a Weber reversible plate compactor.

from BYU-Idaho Horticulture who won 1st Place at the LandCare Case Competition this semester. This team worked hard over the semester to develop and propose a winning sales strategy LandCare case in the South Bay area.

We are so happy for them and grateful for LandCare for inviting teams from BYU-Idaho to participate.

Students have been working hard on the Japanese Garden with Brother Westergard here on campus. We wanted to share the latest photos this week. The project has spanned several semester and will span one or two more. More to come: Haiku poetry, more granite symbols, and hopefully a tea house sitting area.

Thanks to Brother Spackman for giving Metus a tour of the Scripture Garden yesterday. He has put so much time & effort into creating it. All of the plants in the garden have a scripture that correlate with where they are found in the scriptures. Anyone is welcome to come check it out Mon-Fri.
