“Online learning gives me the freedom to be myself. I can make everyday a personal experience that is all about me on my schedule at my speed. I get to learn faster or slower or louder than I could in a crowded classroom. Everyday is about my learning experience and the best way that works for me in a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment. K12 (OHVA) is the best school for me because I am in my happy place at home while learning everyday with the people I love helping me.”

“When I was pregnant with my son, I heard a K12 radio ad at work that stopped me in my tracks. It talked about a free, public online school that gave families flexibility—perfect for busy schedules, military moves, or any family who wanted something different. The idea that he could learn from home, safe and happy, felt like an answered prayer.
As soon as he turned four, I called K12. The person on the phone was so warm and patient that I immediately started gathering paperwork. The moment he turned five, we enrolled in kindergarten and we’ve now been part of the K12 family for nine wonderful years (he’s in 7th grade now!).
Online learning with K12 has let us truly make school our own. Because my husband and I both work, the flexible schedule is a lifesaver. We can start lessons early, take a break to volunteer at our local food bank, travel to see family, or even finish schoolwork in the evening if we have appointments during the day.
I love being right there as his Learning Coach, watching him learn in real time during live Class Connect sessions and bonding over lessons in ways I never imagined. Most importantly, my son is thriving without the fear of bullying. He feels safe, supported, and excited about school. The teachers are incredibly caring (even through a screen!), the curriculum is strong, and the free tutoring is there whenever he needs an extra boost.
I’m so grateful we found this path, and I recommend it to every parent who wants their child to shine on their own terms. Thank you, K12, for nine amazing years—and here’s to many more!”

In 2022, Ms. Moseley joined Cyber Academy of South Carolina (CASC) as a science teacher. Since then, she has taught a variety of courses, from earth science and chemistry to environmental science and biology.
“Mainly, my passion is biology. It’s difficult content to teach, but I love it. Everyone has to take biology, so, I get to see almost every student that comes through the school.
A part of my job is figuring out how to take this content that is so difficult and make it applicable to their lives. We use a platform called Gizmos, and it’s really cool because it’s an interactive lab. Since joining the world of online education, I feel like my knowledge of technology has increased so much. I’ve also learned to analyze data much better than I did in the past.
Helping students succeed in something they once thought was too difficult – that’s the best part of the job.”

“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the remarkable educational experience my son has had in his first year of kindergarten with K12 VAVA. He has had the most exceptional teacher, Mrs. Jones, who has played a pivotal role in his growth and development, particularly in learning to read independently.
Since starting on January 5th, he has blossomed into a confident learner. I am deeply thankful for the educators at VAVA…who have made a lasting impact on my son's educational journey. As he moves on to 1st grade, I am filled with pride and a sense of accomplishment.
After experiencing the challenges of bullying in [brick-and-mortar] school…I made the decision to do schooling at home, and I'm grateful for the support of this community here [at K12]. Their guidance and understanding have been instrumental in his journey.
As I reflect on my son's progress, I am filled with joy and appreciation for the dedication of educators and administrators. K12 has and will always be our school of choice.”

"Looking back, WIVA has been a big part of my journey and helped me grow both academically and personally.
I graduated as part of the Class of 2026, earned Honor Roll recognition, and received the American Citizenship Award. I'm proud of how far I've come and all the hard work that got me here.
I'm especially grateful for my senior year teachers... Their support, encouragement, and dedication helped make my final year a positive and memorable experience. They always took the time to help students succeed, and I'm thankful for everything they did for me throughout the year.
WIVA gave me the flexibility to balance my education with the things I'm passionate about while continuing to work toward my goals. My time at WIVA taught me independence, responsibility, and confidence. I'm excited to see what comes next."

Today, I received my STAAR results for my very last STAAR exam, showing that I mastered every year I was in [K12’s] care. It’s so exciting. It’s so thrilling.
I started college at 14 right after middle school with K12, and my first month of high school was also my first month of college, so I’ve been in college as long as I’ve been in high school. I was able to skip 10th grade completely and go from 9th grade to 11th grade, and I’ve completed two years of college successfully.
I’m maintaining a 4.0 GPA in college and a 5.43 GPA in high school simultaneously. I will complete high school and my Associate of Science degree a few weeks apart between May and June 2027.
Even with my busy schedule of college and high school, I successfully completed 19 high school and college classes over one academic year, including 10 classes in my most recent semester. I also completed 151 hours of community service during the same school year.
I credit my amazing educators at K12 and the flexibility offered by my high school campus, which allows me time to fit in all of my goals.
[My] journey with K12 has been amazing since the beginning, and I’m looking forward to my final year with [K12].
