Does your daughter have a hard time sharing with her friends when she is hurt, upset, or confused?

Here are the six reasons why your daughter may not be sharing with her friends.
1. She’s worried she will come off as dramatic or too much.
2. Some girls think that showing feelings, especially in front of others makes them look weak.
3. Maybe your daughter just doesn’t know what she’s feeling, but she just knows that it’s a lot. It’s hard to talk about feelings when you’re not even sure what’s going on inside.
4. She’s scared of what might happen if she speaks up. She might be worried that if she says how she really feels it will cause drama or people will get mad or she’ll get in trouble.
5. Maybe she’s learned that “nice girls“ don’t make a big deal. Girls sometimes are expected to be polite and smile and not cause problems even if something really hurts us or makes us angry.
6. Your daughter doesn’t feel like she has anyone safe to talk to. If she’s tried opening up before and someone ignored her, made her feel silly or told her to “just get over it“ it makes sense that she is likely to hold it all in now.
⬇️
If you want more support for your daughter, I have an online virtual group called the Brave Girl Tribe for girls in 5th to 8th grade. This past weekend, we explored real steps to help release bottled up emotions and to speak up with confidence. If your daughter could use this kind of support we’d love to have her join us as a guest next Sunday at 7 PM eastern , 6 PM central, 4 PM Pacific. just comment “guest“ And I’ll send you all the details.

💔 “She invited the new girl in… now she’s the one being left out.”
If your daughter has been hurt by shifting friendships—especially after trying to be kind—she’s not alone.
Lunch table drama hits hard. When your daughter is stuck at the same seat every day, watching her friend group change in front of her, it can leave her feeling confused, excluded, and unsure what to do next.
✨ The good news? These moments, while painful, are powerful opportunities for growth, confidence, and clarity. And she doesn’t have to face them alone.
Here’s how I can help: 👇
📘 Beyond The Drama — My self-paced course for parents navigating friendship challenges with their daughters. Tools, scripts, and support that really work.
👧 The Brave Girl Tribe — A safe, supportive space for girls in grades 5–8 to grow confidence and connection.
🎓 The High School Support Group — For teen girls navigating deeper challenges and friendships with more independence.
🚀 Survive and Thrive in Middle School — A fun, empowering prep course for girls (and their parents) heading into middle school. Start strong, socially and emotionally.
💬 DM me if you’re not sure which option fits—or if you just want to talk it through. I’m here for you and your daughter. ❤️

Hi Brave Friends,
If you are trying so hard to make friends and feel that you still aren’t fitting in- It is not you! One of my brave girls shared that she is trying so hard to make friends and it just isn’t working out. It is hard when you haven’t met your tribe yet. If you are feeling alone please know that there are many other people feeling lonely to. Keep putting yourself in new situations and showing up as yourself! You can create your own world. I loved this wall at the Old Lucket’s Store in Lucket, Virginia.

Comparison is the thief of joy. I see so many girls stuck because they are comparing themselves to their classmates or to the idealized version that society tricks us into chasing. Which quote inspires you to show yourself some self love and acceptance? Let me know in the comments.
